Holy crap I had no idea Shadowgate was coming. That was my first Kickstarter success, it's a great remake.

Anyone know if battle princess madelyn is better than at launch. The story mode had very poor expectations of the player to make leaps of faith or somehow attempt to fall through platforms that you wouldnt have any idea it was possible on or even try it. I seem to remember the devs saying they would patch this with hints or something.

Nooooo. No way. It runs horribly. The framerate is abysmal.

It's still an amazing game and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in a good story. If you're a fan of Swery, you should already own it. It's an emotional rollercoaster with story elements dropped at a perfect pace to keep you motivated to push forward. I strongly disliked the gameplay and chalk a lot of that up to the performance issues on the Switch version. It's still one of my favorite games of 2018.

The port is bad. The game is really blurry and it's not even a good-looking game in the first place. The rubberbanding is also off the charts. I had some fun with it in the same way that I enjoy frozen cheeseburgers. It's kinda bad but remains enjoyable.

They sort of "apologized", but the issues are that they've 1) not done anything to the folks who organized and participated in the AMA. 2) the apology IIRC didn't reference the comments and actual participation that the employees had with the people there. Like in one instance one person posted a pic saying something VERY unpleasant (I'll just link to the thread where this is all summarized). And it was Reinhard who then replied saying "that could be from one of our upcoming games". YIKES.

AND they never said a thing when the shootings happened and was then linked to that site. Easily they could've said "We at THQ Nordic are horrifically saddened by the shootings and we once again want to make absolutely clear that we do NOT associate ourselves with that site, nor do we support any of their views". You don't need to go through legal layers to say that.

There's a giant shit pile they need to dig themselves out of before folks should ever let them off the hook. Doesn't help when they left the link to said site on their twitter for like 15 hours IIRC, and then it really doesn't take more than a mere google search to find out what the site even is (it's even delisted from Google for VERY serious reasons). They even acknowledge the site's rep by saying the staff there would "weed out the nasty stuff". That tells us that they knew what they were doing, they knew what the site is and why it's bad, and it tells us that they worryingly support their views.

I hope I summed it up the best I can. This isn't just a mere "oops", nor by some low-level employee, but a number of folks from VERY high up in the holding company that owns everything THQ Nordic (the head company, and the subsidiaries), with one being part of the board of directors (Reinhard) IIRC.

If it was just some bad PR person they can be told to take a hike and that'd be the end of it. This isn't the case.

Hope this helps shed light on this situation.

Doesn't help when they left the link to said site on their twitter for like 15 hours IIRC, and then it really doesn't take more than a mere google search to find out what the site even is (it's even delisted from Google for VERY serious reasons). They even acknowledge the site's rep by saying the staff there would "weed out the nasty stuff". That tells us that they knew what they were doing, they knew what the site is and why it's bad, and it tells us that they worryingly support their views.

I hope I summed it up the best I can. This isn't just a mere "oops", nor by some low-level employee, but a number of folks from VERY high up in the holding company that owns everything THQ Nordic (the head company, and the subsidiaries), with one being part of the board of directors (Reinhard) IIRC.

If it was just some bad PR person they can be told to take a hike and that'd be the end of it. This isn't the case.

    I don't see the good in boycotting games they publish. They're not developers, it seems unfair to me to hurt the devs because, ultimately, of a few people on the publishing side.

    This line of thought has been thoroughly rebutted ad nauseam, even by developers themselves, but this really isn't the place to relitigate the fiasco. Feel free to read the relevant threads.

    Riptide for $4 is a great deal. Not sure if I bought it for $10 or $5 a year and a half ago, but it was good for the price.
