It's like i'm in the nineties again, but instead of trying to ban DOOM, it's Visual Novels

If you read some of their other tweets, they seem like quaky right winged conservatives co opting the recent anti sexual harassment movement.

It's fiction, if you're going to ban sexual content and sexual violence but not maiming and gore in general it seems pretty hypocritical to me.

As long as it stays in the realm of fiction, I think consumers should decide

Several fanservice games are on Steam. They just're removing/asking to edit games that have sex as one of the main objectives, going by the games they may remove and this tweet.

Can't wait for MangaGamer/Jast/other visual novel publishers to give the finger to Steam and make their own marketplace. If they really go forward with this I'm done with Steam.

looking into it, the "National Center on Sexual Exploitation" is literally the "won't somebody think of the children" group. They think all porn is actually illegal and are against all pornography.

I get the whole banning sexual content that involves characters deemed as minors, I fully support that. This is crazy though.

Kindred Spirits on the Roof for example, a Yuri VN has been praised by alot of sites for being very LGBT friendly (it goes into detail the persecution and social taboo being a lesbian in Japan is) has two or three very tame sex scenes (which go no further then something like Witcher) and there split in a thirty hour plus game.

It got approval a YEAR ago by Steam itself, and now valve is threatening to take it off the store.

It's not about sexualization of minors. The tweet says nothing about it, Valve never said this too.

Roommates got a notice and features only collage age people. That being said, the bigger stuff like Witcher 3 and Wolfenstein 2 haven't gotten any notices, so nothing here makes any sense.

I don't really have a dog in this race, as I don't play game like this. But this has made me change my Bloodstained platform of choice from Steam to GOG. I wonder what might happen to a game like Agony, which I would love to get on GOG now over Steam. Just in case.
