Let's appreciate what the world has to offer by looking at entries for this contest. No winners announced yet, I think that's June 28th. 9 weeks of submissions so far and I've just plucked random ones I've liked to post here, this is not all the entries at all. Categories are Nature, Cities, and People but I might be a bit biased towards cities in my picks.
In this image six adventurous Travelers spent a night suspended hundreds of feets in the air at the 'Pietra di Bismantova', a sandstone rockformation in italy. The image was taken in the early morning hours before sunrise While people were still sleeping in their shelters. The hammocks And Campers are attached to a special RopE Setup in order to be Safe while sleeping.
Hong kong has always been known for its high urban density.it has a larger population, but land is limited in supply. Our tiny living space is getting even smaller and we are losing more green space for population growth, despite we are still desire for a breath of fresh air. we are not hoping for extension of the concrete jungle continually.
Just one of those amazing moments. Instead of november in VT, here i was a few feet away from a mother gorilla and her child on a mt. in Uganda!
I have recently visited the fishing village of Nha Trang, Vietnam and documented their daily life in two-morning sessions. It was the highlight to witness the women sewing the fishnets. I have tried many compositions to extract the scene by excluding the distracting elements to show the colors, patterns and the main subjects within a frame. This picture was captured for a candid moment of the scene, not staged as arranged by some photography tours nowadays.
As night fell, the corner of the city began to buzz. People rushed through the crowded night market. After a tiring day, people looked for the destination of their taste buds.
Tribal disputes are a perpetual menace in the region and women and children are the most effected. This stark reality is accentuate by the fragil reality of innocence
In Sendai City, taxi surplus is becoming a social problem. This is related to the abolition of tax regulations implemented in 2002. On weekend nights, lots of taxis are waiting for customers. In the car, there is a driver who will spend waiting time in various forms. This is the weekend scenery of Sendai city. I think the taxi driver is a hard job.
Two kangraoo fighting under the rain close to our campsite. to me it looks like a tarantino movie.
Visiting Mandalay for the first time, I reached at the top of the mountain in the early morning without knowing what would happen next. Luckily, I saw the sunrise turning the blue sky into crimson color, and then the amazing golden sunlight appeared.
Aerial imagery I captured of one of my favourite world cities. I focused on the beauty, the symmetry and the curiosity of scenes of every day life that we take for granted when viewed from our usual perspective. The people walking the streets below are unaware of the bigger picture to which they are a part of.
I have been to many football stadiums in the UK and nothing compares to this pitch in Henningsvaer. If it was even a contest then nature would beat modern architecture every time in my opinion. You don't need a fancy modern structure to have an amzing place to play football.
One shot capture. I watched the leopard stalking the stork, I only had time to focus at 400mm, no time to change to high speed, I watched the stork and as soon as it flapped it's wings I shot one shot. And you don't know if it got away or not, the beauty of photography...and the Serengeti.
rock climbing places around the world. Some are in the forest or in remote mountains. Hong Kong's Lion Rock is in the center of the city. This is a unique Hong Kong.
A quiet street in macau. Modernization around is quickly changing the city.
