Doc Rivers finally kills the Bucks?
Suns think they will win it until Frank Vogel makes dumb lineup changes and plays Isiah Thomas with the big 3?
LeBron gets the most attention despite playing the incumbent champs?
Batum bails out the Sixers?
Luka steals the soul of Kawhi?
No one looks at the Magic until it's too late?

My OT would have been "Motherfuck the big three, it's just big me!"

East Round 1
Celtics vs Heat: Celtics should win this in 4 or 5 games. The Heat offense is BAD, and without Jimmy they stand no chance

Knicks vs Sixers: Sixers in 6. Even if Embiid is hobbled, I think the Sixers have more talent and a better coach.

Bucks vs Pacers: No defense will be played this series, but the Bucks can't hang with the Pacers with no Giannis. Pacers in 6

Cavs vs Magic: This is the NBA TV series that nobody will watch besides sickos. Points will be very low this series, but I expect the Cavs to lose for disrespecting the basketball gods with that cowardly ass tanking they did. Magic in 6

West Round 1
Thunder vs Pelicans: This would be a scarier series if Zion was healthy. Thunder in 6

Nuggets vs Lakers: JOKIC. Nuggets in 5

Timberwolves vs Suns: This is the absolute worst matchup for the Wolves in the first round. Suns are gonna win in 6 and then KAT will be traded in the summer.

Clippers vs Mavs: Kawhi is going through his annual postseason injury, so Luka is gonna run wild and finally slay his bracket demon. Mavs in 5

Celtics in 5. Half with be close as Boston will play down to the Heat
Knicks in 6. Another season, another excuse for Embiid for being the most overrated player in the league next to Trae
Bucks in 7. I'm not feeling the Pacers and I think Giannis will return
Magic in 6. The Cavs under performing again feels right.

OKC in 6 if Zion is back. Otherwise OKC in 5.
Mavs in 6. Complete with Kawhi injury, Russell running loose for one game, and Harden no show when it matters.
Nuggets in 6. Every game was close last WCF and I could easily see 2 falling to the Lakers. Bron isn't going to want to out the same way.
Suns in 7. Because Chaos, but they are a terrible match. Wolves in 5 if KD goes down in game one or two.

Hopefully My Cavs can make it further than they did last year. Mitchell and Garland need to go off.

- Bucks were hurt/dead for now before Doc

- Sure

- Of course, with the Draft coming up all sports eye in the City are on the Broncos, and Lebron still one of the faces of the League

- Nah

- Yes

- No

SHOOKtics time or they'll never do it

Bucks will rush Giannis back for game 2 if they lose game 1, I'd save him for game 3 even if they're down 0-2

76ers and Knicks looks like a 6/7 game series too

Celtics > Heat in 5 - Spo will steal one even with no Jimmy.
76ers > Knicks in 6 - I don't see them stopping Embiid unless he can't play.
Pacers > Bucks in 6 - Bucks season has been a disaster, this is the cherry on top. Giannis hurt obviously a major factor.
Magic > Cavs in 6 - Cavs will be punished for throwing a game.

OKC > Pels in 6 - Pels with no Zion should be handled pretty easily, but OKC will be shook by the pressure of the playoffs AND being the #1 seed.
Denver > Lakers in 6 - I can't fathom another sweep, but Denver is clearly the better team. If Lebron finds a way to win he's the GOAT.
Wolves > Suns in 7 - Suns are top heavy but they've looked so fraudulent all season, I think Wolves pull it off in a long series.
Clippers > Mavs in 7 - Kawhi gonna come back and crush these fools, just watch ; _ ;

Celtics > Magic in 4 - Kids ain't ready.
76ers > Pacers in 6 - Embiid.

Clippers > OKC in 6 - Kids ain't ready for the olds, not yet.
Denver > Wolves in 6 - Will be a hard fought series like last year, but Jokic too good.

Celtics > 76ers in 6 - Embiid won't be enough, if he's still standing this late into the playoffs.
Denver > Clippers in 6 - Kawhi won't be enough, if he's still standing this late into the playoffs.

Nuggets > Celtics in 7 - Will be an amazing finals between easily the two best teams in the league.

inb4 it's all ruined by injuries to superstar players and the finals are like magic vs wolves or some shit

It would be such a 2024 Lakers thing to do to miraculously beat the Nuggets only to get beatdown in the 2nd round.

The close losses thing is so idiotic, first game sure. But when it happens 4 times in a row.....and then for every game in the next regular season too despite multiple players talking about changes etc

But I'm looking forward to whatever the next put Rui on Jokic game 1 revelation that leads to oblivion is

I really want OKC to prove all the doubters wrong. They've been catching strays all season due to their inexperience and yet ended up at the 1 seed, I want them to make the ultimate proof that a young team can do it in the playoffs too.

Sucks that it's Pels vs OKC first round as I want both those teams to do well.

I still feel like The issue is that they do not exploit advantages they have with rui and at points ad. however I agree with you, I've watched all Those games and lakers have no chance.

Based on what Embiid has looked like since he came back I don't understand how anyone can pick the Sixers in a relatively comfortable 6 games. He looked at about 60% against Miami the other night. And that Miami zone really fucked with them making Maxey look poor.

Unless Embiid magically gets healthy I think the Knicks are clear favorites.

Can't say I'm confident about today at all. I could easily see Knicks winning by double digits. In fact the only thing I'm confident about is Wolves -1.5. I get the Suns are a bad matchup for them but I think they win today.

If the Lakers do it it will be in 7. But the reality they may eke out one more win for this season. Say goodbye to DLo and Austin this summer.

Celtics over Heat in 4
Boston is going to annihilate Miami. No Jimmy and a hurt Rozier just makes it that much easier. Spoelstra is amazing and the Heat will play hard I'm sure, but the talent difference on the floor is just too huge.

Cavaliers over Magic in 6
I know everyone is down on the Cavs at the moment, but they're still a decent team. And as good as Orlando's defense is, in the playoffs you need some dudes that can put the ball in basket and the Cavs definitely have a couple of those. Maybe Banchero comes out and shows us some real magic, but I expect Cleveland to win this.

Knicks over 76ers in 7
This is going to be the most competitive and fun first round in the east. The problem with Philly is that Embiid doesn't look 100%, as per usual in the playoffs. It's honestly a sports tragedy the big guy can't show off what he's capable of on the biggest stage. Even a limited Embiid can cause a lot of havoc and that's why I think the series will go long. The Knicks will eventually grind it out though.

Bucks over Pacers in 7
This series is going to be a clusterfuck. I know Indiana has beaten Milwaukee a lot in the regular season, but I don't even think they're that bad a matchup for the Bucks. As long as Giannis comes back at some point he'll right the ship and take them to the next round. Maybe I'd feel different if Haliburton hadn't looked off since the All-Star break.

Thunder over Pelicans in 5
This fucking sucks man. Zion was on the cups of truly showcasing his talents and he had to get injured just before the playoffs. OKC has no one that could have stopped him, he would have bullied Holgrem mercilessly. What could have been a really fun series is now just going to be a footnote. I'm sure the Pelicans can still teal a game from the inexperienced Thunder, but besides that I don't think they have a chance without Zion.

Nuggets over Lakers in 5
Considering both rosters are mostly the same, I expect a very similar result to last year. I think LA can steal a single game if guys like Hachimura and Russel make a bunch of 3s in one of the games, but overall Jokic and Murray will not be denied.

Suns over Wolves in 6
Minnesota worked so hard all season long only for them to draw the worst possible match up they could get. Booker/Beal/KD are a great counter to the style of defense the Wolves play. Minnesota has a lot of talent, but their BBIQ is still relatively low and I don't expect them to make good enough adjustments to beat the Suns. I do think Ant will go nuts, but that will both win them some games and cost them some on some ill advised 4Q shots.

Mavericks over Clippers in 7
This is the must-watch series of the West. This is going to be an absolute bloothbath and I suspect every single game to be competitive. It might come down to health (can Kawhi and Kyrie stay on the court?), but if not I do think eventually Doncic will prevail.

On paper the Pels are an excellent team even without Zion, but they really need BI to be more consistent and for CJ to get out of whatever funk he has been in the last couple of games.

Wolves/Suns and Pels/Thunder are easily the most interesting of the first round series for me. They could both go either way if each team brings their A game.

I can also see Spo stealing a couple of games off the Celtics. Spo is a genius who elevates his players, and on the evidence of the two play-in games JJJ is a stud who wants it bad.

FUCK

Rooting for Lakers but I think Denver in 5.

If Denver wins I will have to root for them or OKC to prevent Boston from raising another banner.

Aren't Pacers the betting favorites? That barely even counts as an upset.

Suns have a really good chance to beat the Wolves. Horrible draw for Minnesota.
