Wait, what? So... MyPlayer you would most likely spend VC on for 2K21 on say PS4 wouldn't carry over to PS5? Same with Xbox?Your MyPlayer progress doesn't transfer over to the respective next gen version of the game either (MyTeam progress does, however).

This is just bonkers. 2K21 is going all out for the $$$. Forget it, this can wait till next year then.
"
Will anything in MyCAREER/MyPLAYER transfer over?
No, your MyPLAYER Inventory and progress will not transfer, as the experience will be different for NBA 2K21 on next-generation consoles. We'll have more to share later this year.
"
Yeah, sure, 2K, sure, I believe you. Next Gen to be same thing with a bit better graphics and animations with even more VC $$$.
So basically they ripped 2k16's career mode? Watch it be like 3 high school games, 6 college and then pros. Why can't we just have full fledge seasons starting in high school. We start as a 60 and hit the Pros as basically a fucking 62 being touted as the next greatest thing.
They could have at least make you go through College games for couple seasons. College basketball could be pretty fun and they would have had more story material to work on.They want you in the league ASAP for multiple reasons. Going against other scrubs in high school is boring. You won't be buying VC that way either. Unfortunately the grind is their whole selling point. Because you could still have a grind but let your players not start at rock bottom. 2k don't care.
Yep. There's really no point in putting the required amount of hours in to get your guy where he needs to be, if you plan to play the mode on the next gen systems.
Notice how they did ensure that they money maker, MyTeam, carried everything over, though.

However, as you say, its 2K , they don't care as long as VC keeps flowing.
They make a ton from players spending $50-100 each on VC to play in the Park or on Pro-AM though. Heck, most people most likely pay even for MyCareer as it's a complete grind otherwise, especially so for some of the archetypes depending on shooting/mobility.
Edit: So basically they aim to get their regular $60-100 + VC cash from the audience and then take it 2nd time on next gen. I now really want to know how PC version is going to be treated. Is there going to be "next-gen upgrade" whatever that is. Is there going to be a free patch, etc... It's complete BS that they want people to spend money without even telling everyone what the hell are they spending the money on or what happens with the whole next-gen version.
lol hahahahahahahYour MyPlayer progress doesn't transfer over to the respective next gen version of the game either (MyTeam progress does, however).
$5 next July / August same as it was each following summer for 2K19 and 2K20. This is seriously stupid. Of course what's worse is that it's going to sell huge numbers and even more VC sales, not to mention upsales for next gen version with even more VC.They're gonna VC your ass to death AND you can transfer your progress over next-gen? On top of charging a separate AND more expensive fee for next-gen? Seriously guys, vote with your wallet on this.
