the 360 released with no new PlayStation console as a direct competitor As the ps3 was a year or so behind it.

And the xb1 probably needed a halo in fairness. It was not a well received launch.

with Xbox being in this current situation and coming out at the same time as ps5 they needed everything to throw at this release IMO

Atm.Not sure if full list. Then offcourse some more other third party also. Like Cyberpunk etc and Backwards compat with selected titles getting extra 4k and HDR also

This is the first time Halo has been an anticipated title at launch.. The delay hurts.

People don't buy consoles at launch for BC and GP.. Smart delivery or next gen upgrades have been around for a while at fee.
New and old IP's, new ways to play and third party titles drive console sales at launch.

At this point they would need Cyberpunk, Madden or 2K21 to be on GP.

Offer a three free months of Gamepass Ultimate and emphasize that third party titles play best on it. Highlight the fact that it is the cheapest way to play next gen games. No new accessories need.

Sure. Just stating the fact that no Halo at launch of new console happened more then it didnt.

Sorry I quoted wrong person. Was meant to respond to the person who suggested cypberpunk might be a game pass game. I don't think that is possible seeing as it's been available for preorder for a long time

The problem only seems to be Halo here because Series X is the king size bed that Microsoft made for it without a reasonable backup plan. Obviously, it doesn't need a Halo game in particular, but it does need a relevant first-party launch game to get the momentum flowing. Even with the XB1's problems, they still managed to lock down Ryse: Son of Rome, Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct and Forza 5. Series X doesn't even need as many AAA exclusive games as that.

It just needs one.

It's Playstation's holiday tbh. They shouldn't have banked on Halo so hard. Launch is maybe less than 3 months away, they can't do anything.

It's not ideal but they're doing what they can, talking up game pass and backwards compatibility. Xbox die-hards will buy it no matter what.
