Interesting...Chris Slate was doing the Power Pros podcast with Chris Hoffman, who both used to work at Nintendo Power. Is it just Chris Slate on this podcast?

What a crazy thing to launch with no fanfare in the middle of the night.

Well, I'll give it a listen I suppose.

That's pretty awesome. Makes sense to have a podcast now, as Switch has an abundance of titles every week.

Nowhere
Uh, is this not available on itunes? I thought all podcasts were on itunes.

That kinda puts a damper on it for me since I like to listen to podcasts through my iphone and headphones.

Yo, holy shit! If they get more of the writers (Chris Hoffman, Steve Thomason, Justin Cheng), I am so down! I was always bummed that the lack of NP meant I wouldn't get to hear their thoughts on the latest Nintendo games and news. It's not a magazine comeback but a podcast is the next best thing.

This is amazing! Love the relaunch of Nintendo Power, even if it's just a podcast. Chris Slate is fantastic.

It's an hour long for those of you wondering.

Pretty glad it isn't 20 minutes long or something.

This is like a lazy version of PlayStation's relaunch of PlayStation Underground. That's at least a neat video series.

Will never replace that feeling I had pooping and reading about Mario.

But I guess it'll help.

Chris Slate's been writing about video games for close to 30 years at this point. He started at Game Players magazine back in the late 80's. Big fan of his work. Looking forward to checking this out!

Hold on now, a podcast with Nintendo of America employees discussing Nintendo stuff with some longform interviews with Nintendo producers and executives actually sounds really cool.

That Playstation Underground relaunch, in comparison, has not lived up to it's original namesake in the few years it's been around.

Nintendo needs something like a PlayStation blog to break minor announcements or somewhere where casual fans could stay up to date with new announcemaents. An official blog named Nintendo Power could be that. Would be weird to just bring the branding back for a podcast

Podcasts are the future.

I listen to dozens of hours worth of podcasts a week.

Kinda surprising to see them reusing that branding, but I guess it makes sense. I'll definitely try to listen, hopefully it becomes regular.

This is awesome! Podcasts are just very convenient as something I can listen while cleaning or playing, also really digging the intro tune.

Edit: Oh wow, this has interviews with Aonuma and Fujibayashi, if this is the quality we can expect, I'm excited. I hope they make this a weekly thing.
