I wonder who was guilty of demonizing the human body in such a way that the slightest glimpse of a buttock has to be edited.
Disney also edited out a pooping pony in the children's show Bluey. My three year old daughter instantly caught that omission.

Much conflict as the suits try to get the artists to stay on-brand with the company's "family friendly" message, while the artists keep trying to slip things past the suits, out of spite if nothing else.

this one's actually existed for longer than disney+, it's from the later DVD pressings--apparently to ward off complaints that kids might try to imitate lilo and get stuck in the dryer. still completely fucking insane but not new
Apparently they had to edit this in the UK already because there was a child safety concern by showing Lilo hiding in the dryer. So they just used the existing UK version for Disney+.

The Lizzie McGuire reboot is on hiatus as well because Disney+ refuses to make it as mature as they'd like the show to be.

It's not a door. Their house is messy, so Lilo is just using the box to block the opening to hide. From what I can gather, it's to address a UK problem where they're trying to not encourage kids to hide in the washing machine or dryer because it's considered dangerous.
