I was saying this in grade 6 so I guess around 2006 and 2007. It feels so late though.
I remember calling Tekken 3 "tight" a lot, so late 90s?
Nah Tekken 3 was just tight.
YesIs this one of those topics where whites flood in to lowkey shit on black slang?
Tight will never die.
#ForeverTight
...uh, wait, that sounds weird.

Shit was tight.
It's sad that Newsradio did not have a longer life in syndication. Nobody under the age of 30 is going to understand when you greet them with "Gazizza!"Im glad I wasn't the only one who went there.
Gazizza has become the standard greeting in my circle of friends.
If? You are too lateIs it possible to cringe to death? Because I could see that happening to me if this future of yours comes into fruition.
^^^^^not just tumblr though.I always found kinda funny the irony of "Woke" being hijacked by white people in tumblr to show how progressive they are, while totally ignoring the appropiation of the word.
Sounds hella tite.I thought about it more and everyone at my middle school was saying "tight", which was in 1999. So that shit survived til the mid-2000s. Weird.
this is probably Doggy Fizzle Televizzle's fault tbhNobody but Snoop ever said that shizzle shit. It went straight from his mouth to White people's 'cool' sayings box.
I keep saying "wack" to describe something bad and I don't know where it has come from or why I have suddenly added it to my vernacular and I need help.
In five years I fully expect to hear a "whos mans is this" in the wild.
Was that ever a hip thing to say though? I don't know one way or the other, it just doesn't seem like that should ever have been a hip thing to say.Saw this in action when Giant Bomb when discovered "gang gang" a few nights ago.

Just ignore they corny asses is all I can doBlack people of era
How do you deal with white people mockingly over exaggerating slang? It's easy enough to threaten them when it's one on one but when you're in a group/at work it's so easy for everyone to consider you the bad guy for calling me out.
Tangent but I remember finding this uncomfortable when I was a kid watching those Disney shows. At some point you'd have a character do something culturally black but do it in such a bad way it comes across as costume-less blackface
It's just funny how words and concepts are played out for years sometimes and are suddenly adopted by old out of touch people
Woke was done to death years ago and now has been dug from it's grave to be drug back into the ground by a new group that has a "hip" new buzzword to overdo
It's standard operating procedure for American culture, it's just... corny
