Fucking boo. I don't think I've ever heard of Fishbowl being the name of a party game in my life. One of the other words in purple feels like a stretch compared to the others, too. There's no timeline where I wouldn't have made the exact mistake I did.

Every time Connections gives me one of these pronunciation groups I just stare at the screen wondering how things can be so different on the other side of the ocean.

I did not see what purple was going for, so trying to peel it and blue apart kinda came down to taking a 50/50 shot at which specific words were gonna fit for blue.

Cut that one *really* fine! Purple I was hinging on it being 'card', which just about works as well but "Mac" is a bit tenuous so I didn't hit on it. I don't like green - and couldn't lock it down - because they vary the grammar of them; you might say 'It's a steal' but you wouldn't say 'It's a value'. Unless you would and it's a turn of phrase I hadn't heard!

Got the link for blue first, but there's quite a few red herrings that could fit in that bracket.

Wow, surrpised to see your lengthy streak finally thwarted. You made it a full two months without the game besting you. That's a monumental achievement!

Today's puzzle is certainly a tricky one. I think I'd be right there with Blackpuppy staring forever at my screen or with you on the cutting room floor had I not managed to isolate yellow and then immediately divert to sussing out the usual purple group shenanigans.

Would be a shame to lose your presence in the thread so try not to make this a full-time retirement although I can appreciate wanting to take a welcome (and deserved) sabbatical.

Ooof, a tough one. I got fixated on "supper/culture/sports" being ____ club for a long time. In the end - after confirming that set wasn't a 'one away' - I fluked into the answer.

Blue feels a bit vague? Not so much that it's *unfair*, just that it feels a bit too inside baseball-y.

Purple is perfectly reasonable, but I didn't see it!

Definitely a weird one to look at for a bit, beyond picking out yellow pretty quickly. Then got green and had to sit on it for a while longer until purple finally clicked.
I actually did end up figuring out blue's group (or close to it) kind of early on, but never felt confident enough in it to try and submit it sooner than I did.

My beginning mess-up was because for some reason I thought Copy was in it, and that it was things you'd say on a walkie-talkie lol.

My one mistake was because I thought the group was something about youth: hijinks heyday, culture sports

Thanks, this is one of the first where I simply couldn't pick out any group. I kept up my streak for so long because I don't actually submit anything until I solve everything mentally, or at least get 3 out of 4 confidently. Today I just didn't feel it and caved.

And don't worry, I'm not going anywhere

The first thing I latched onto actually turned out to be a bait category. Luckily I couldn't see a fourth word to match with the three I saw, and that pause gave me the time to see the real answers filling out really easily.
