SE games do in general tbh.
It's good to see Nintendo doing a sale on Octopath though since it's so rare. They should do one for their DQ games and TWEWY too.

I liked that the stories didn't tie into each other and that they were largely inconsequential to each other. maybe next time just have unique party members for each story so the expectation of camaraderie won't be there
Same here. I'm so happy it's up on Spotify. I hope Square Enix gets Yasunori Nishiki to do more composing.
You didn't finish the game, did you? Or at least do all the sidequests?
That will bomb so hard it's not even funny
I thought the way the characters were connected was clever....and that how most reviewers missed it was embarrassing on their part.
How so?
While everything is possible, why do you think so?
The final final boss is impossible, and I just Youtube'd it, if that's what you mean, but the tie between all the stories becomes apparent before that, and without even accepting that quest you start to notice some connections. The common backstory was frankly brilliant, and anyone who plays Octopath owes it to themselves to at least solve that mystery, without defeating the secret boss. He's not wrong. The connection between the characters is very superficial and to even find the "ending" you have to do a sidequest that's on the same level as Dark Souls' Artorias of the Abyss DLC in obscurity.
Please tell me the future lottery numbers as well. Thank you.
How? The previous two did pretty well on 3DS.
I doubt it matches Octopath but it's probably going to clear a million anyway.
Bravely 1 was a million seller. BS happened due to that success, and Octopath happened because that team was successful.
No wonder with that music. Two people I know actively chose to avoid the game after watching me play it and hearing how the music sounds. /shrugI wish more people gave DQXIS a chance as well. One of the best JRPGs on the system but it seems like the DQ brand is cursed in the West.
At least sounds better than the PS4 version I guess. No wonder with that music. Two people I know actively chose to avoid the game after watching me play it and hearing how the music sounds. /shrug
I thought the XI S OST was ... bearable to okay, but I wouldn't have played it on the PS4 with the MIDI music. No way.
Y E S.
It had great marketing - thats for sure.Ehhh I find the term AAA to be generally meaningless anyway.
It had very good marketing for the type game it was, how's that?
I swapped to the DQVIII audio and never looked back.No wonder with that music. Two people I know actively chose to avoid the game after watching me play it and hearing how the music sounds. /shrug
Xenoblade going by if we go by japan's sales so far are either extremely close or already at 2 million sales, its up to Nintendo to report it however and sometimes they dont
I didn't know you had to use all 8 party members and got screwed because only four of my members were loaded. Of course you can't leave and come back without completely redoing it, so I never bothered going back.Cool it's a great game, although admittedly I didn't finish the secret boss.

2 million? Good lord I didn't expect that. Shame it ended up having some weirdness with the party members and story because I was initially really excited for it.
I did as well, but it only made it so I could even finish the game. To be completely honest, though, I had other gripes with DQ XIS, which definitely go beyond the music. So I gotta hand it to the DQ VIII score that it at least made me finish the game afterall. I think I might have dropped it completely if it weren't for the alternative music score. So, yeah, props for that.
it won't. it'll outsell octopath, if anything.
Seems like wishful thinking on your part.
