Overwatch League Stage 4 Officially begins May 16 ,2018

The Overwatch League, the first major global esports league with city-based teams, was designed to celebrate the best of the best in the hit Blizzard Entertainment title Overwatch. Our goal is to create the world's premier esports league, where teams and players thrive for years to come.

PRESEASON

Dec. 6 – 9, 2017
The preseason kicks off with a series of livestreamed exhibition matches featuring all 12 teams at the Blizzard Arena Los Angeles on December 6–9. After that, teams will have until Opening Day on January 10 to prepare themselves for competition.

Twitch.tv posting - Overwatch League Cheering and League Tokens FAQ

What do I need to do to earn League Tokens while watching Overwatch League on Twitch?

  • Connect your battle.net account with your Twitch.tv account.
    • Please note, Xbox One® and PlayStation®4 system players must also have their Xbox Live or PlayStation®Network account linked to their Battle.net account. Follow these steps to do so
  • Watch on twitch.tv/overwatchleague
  • Watch the Overwatch League on Twitch all season long to get one token for every complete game you watch. Each match between two teams includes at least four games, and there are three matches every night… That's (*counts fingers*) at least 12 tokens if you watch an entire night of OWL.
You can earn Overwatch League Skins by Cheering (Starts February 21st)
  • Overwatch League Skins earned from Cheering are added directly to your Battle.net Account after you have linked your Battle.net account to your Twitch account.
  • You can see the emotes you have unlocked on your "Loot" tab on twitch.tv/overwatchleague. They will be available immediately for use in chat on Twitch.
Where can I keep track of the Bits Cheered and items unlocked during the event?
When Overwatch League Cheering starts on the 21st of February, there will be a tab below the video player on the Overwatch League channel where Cheers and unlocked loot will be tracked.

Will the regional Twitch Channels of Overwatch League support this program?
Overwatch League Cheering will be available on the main English channel, as well as the Korean and French channels. It will unfortunately not be available on the Chinese and Taiwanese channels this season.

How do I Cheer for Overwatch League teams on Twitch?
Click on the Overwatch icon at the bottom of the chat window, select the team's logo, add the number of Bits you want to use and a custom message to Cheer them on.

Can I use the regular Cheer command (e.g. cheer100) on the Overwatch League Channels?
No, regular Cheers won't work on the channels. You can Cheer for any or all of the 12 teams competing in the Overwatch League using their team-themed Cheermotes.

Do the teams receive any financial support from Bits Cheered on Overwatch League?
Overwatch League Cheering is part of a larger partnership between Twitch and Overwatch League that supports the League and players as a whole. Your Cheering helps support this partnership, rather than the teams individually.

FAQs:

I've earned tokens and/or been told that I've won but the tokens are not showing in my Overwatch game—why?

If you're playing Overwatch on Playstation or Xbox then please check that your PlayStation® Network or Xbox Live account is linked to your winning Blizzard account.~ Follow these steps to do so. Once this has been done then the tokens will appear in-game.

I'm buying the Overwatch game next week, does this mean I've lost my earned tokens/prize skin?

Not at all. Once you have the game, then please connect it to your winning Blizzard account (and, if playing on Playstation or Xbox then ensure your PlayStation® Network or Xbox Live account is linked to your Blizzard account). Once this has been done then the Tokens will appear in-game.~

If there's something that's missing or an issue, DM me or @ Me .

Copying my post from the last threqt to continue Convo:

Well the bug they mention is at least an understandable reason to play on the old patch but as a viewers it's still really hurts my excitement for this stage and I can see myself watching a lot less. They really need to get their patch schedule more in lined up with the stages.

The Brigitte thing pisses me off more than Hanzo tbh. They kept her out of competitive for 2 months, everyone was saying she's too OP, then she gets nerfed after 2 days in comp but by then it's too late and the pros are stuck playing the old version.
Yeah I get that something broke in the path and there's a bug. It sucks they waited so long to say even a sentence about it.

But the Brigitte Nerf is literally just changing a few values around, am I horribly wrong? Is it way more complicated to change? They went out of their way to say specifically the tourney build is different from live so why does it have to be the exact patch if one hero is broken. If they're so headset on not breaking out individual changes for the owl build, don't put fucking huge changes is with changes meant to tune characters. Why would you do that

This patch is not going to be enjoyable to watch.

I will watch every game regardless.

SF Shock should see some massive improvements with the addition of the new coach Crusty. I expect them to further rise up this stage.

Reposting this for new thread, because KyKy obviously talks about his time on Dallas Fuel and the problems they had.

What if Freefeel is the best Brigitte in the League

What if it's his time

This is gonna be an interesting season. Shame they didn't include new Hanzo. Something is funny about that.

I assume we'll still be seeing a lot of old Hanzo in Stage 4 for the Grav combo.

The most of important part of his kit for this meta is still the same as it was before the rework.

new hanzo sucks but it's unbelievably stupid that the league isn't playing on the live patch.

also the total lack of communication and confusion among the players is baffling and embarrassing. they need to make absolutely sure this never happens again.

I don't know about this, giving how players treated it it wouldn't be surprising if they were told that Blizzard was testing the build and to be ready for the new Hanzo but don't expect him to be in because of the bug.

Blizzard should better communicate with the public about it.

there were players talking like they were sure it'd be on 1.22 and others sounding equally sure it was 1.23

From the explanation earlier it really felt like the devs were making a last ditch effort to fix the issue in the latest patch. I'm guessing players knew about the issue to an extent (which is why you had folks saying it was the old patch), but it was really just a game time decision so to speak.

Edit: The explanation for folks who missed it earlier today

Geguri can protect herself.

Also DF are having a viewing party tomorrow at UT Dallas. After months spent on campus for work, the first time I'm back at the office they have the viewing party there lol.

You're a real everything or nothing kinda guy huh. I said it's not only balanced around pro players, that's the second time you've just ignored what I've said to try and make a point now lol.
I didn't ignore anything. This response has nothing to do with what I said so I don't know what you're trying to get at here.
this is funny coming from the guy who openly admits to throwing games in a lower rank :^)

Hanzo got nerfed (storm arrows from 80dmg to 70).

Old patch kinda sucks though I'm not sure if this broken Hanzo currently live is better. Being able to one-shot 200hp heroes with storm arrows while being damage boosted is dumb.

Monte brought up a really good point about the prevalence of Widowmaker in OWL. Aside from the meta complimenting her and just the sheer skill of hitscan DPS players in the league, OWL is played on a LAN client with higher tickrate servers than live. That's a huge buff for Widow potency, and even non-OWL Widow mains would probably do better in such a playing environment (assuming all players of equal skill)
