I was looking at Steam deals and Night in the Woods is currently 50% off...but the game released seven years ago.
I wonder if it will show up in a Humble Choice sooner or later or if I should just pick it up now, after seven years wasn't discounted at 75% off, so I wonder if devs don't want include it in a bundle at all.

If my memory serves me right, it has already been on a Bundle before (at least I believe I got my this way). Well worth the asking price, if you ask me

I was going through the 1440p monitor rabbit hole a short while ago and there really is no perfect monitor if you want VRR + good HDR. All the monitors come with minor caveats of some sort. You just gotta pick the one where you're OK with what you're getting. I went with the Alienware QD-OLED because of the warranty and the worst caveat being some VRR flicker in the darkest regions of the image (also better text readability than WOLED). As far as I understand the flicker is mostly prominent when you have big variances in frame times. I couldn't care less about the 360 hz aspect, it's not like I'll ever play games near those frame rates. I'm more likely to play at 60 fps with all graphics options maxed out. I really couldn't care less about higher frame rates while gaming. With a bit of luck the monitor should arrive Thursday/Friday this week.

Actually, while we're talking about that monitor, which i'm very close to just chucking on the credit card because i'm an idiot that should not be allowed such things.

Is there any gold standard for monitor arm mounts, gas lift, that hold shit sturdy no matter where you put it? And dont wobble too much as well?

I want something that i can move around with like one finger, and also rotate for tate games, that is actually capable of holding up a monitor neatly and nicely and isn't just a case of cranking everything down so hard that its stiff as fuck, but it holds

Ergotron LX is still up there as one of the best, and there's also Dell's MSA20 (if the monitor supports Dell's proprietary mounting system then I would definitely recommend this).

I'm not sure how easy it would be to move any of them with one finger. Rotating will be easy, but I find there's usually a bit of stiffness with other kinds of movement, and you'll want both hands on it to make sure it keeps facing you. I guess it comes down to the weight of the monitor.

oled vrr flicker is just a thing it seems really unfortunately.

excellent thank you so much, will look into these

i dont "need" to move it with one finger for accesibility or anything dont get me wrong, i was just trying to emphasis how nice and smooth i'd like it to be. I know that that kind of "one finger" level of movement is vaguely possible from stuff i've seen before, its just my current gas lift mount i need to yank around with quite a lot of force with both hands and it kind of defeats the point of having an easily adjustable arm mount when its so dang stiff.

then if you loose it up its too dang loose and it just wobbles and floats around all over the place

Also based at current follower number Ghost of Tsushima should have launch similar to Horizon 2. But we will see if region limit will have further impact.

It was the Itch.io bundle, but I think it doesn't really count, multiple games released in Itch.io bundle but they don't provide Steam keys. It was also free on EGS.

This is so good. Such a striking game visually.
You're really selling me on the game.

Everything just reminded me of AC2. Enemies are no threat at all (even less so with the other weapons you get, you barely need to change stances too the more you level up), missions are nice from a narrative point of view, but the actual gameplay again, reminded me of the older AC games. Go there, infiltrate, follow this guy without being seen, listen what he says to his comrades, rescue this person etc.

It was just not very engaging to me because it felt like I did it already a thousand times in other games. Maybe it's my open world fatigue but I really didn't feel this game is any special. I felt the same about Spider-Man, which I played before that. What I liked though, where the environments.

I really liked GoT when I played it at the time (almost four years ago, sheesh), but one of my biggest gripes was that the game got way too easy very quickly for my liking. I stopped using my skill points at some point (finished the game with 45 unspent SP) and I also stopped upgrading the base character strength early on. I can't even recommend the highest difficulty because enemies die even quicker in that mode due to the one-hit-kill mechanic. I should mention that I'm absolutely not one of those hardcore FromSoftware players who need everything to be Souls-like—quite the opposite, actually.

Now that I have written all of this, I hope that mods on PC will find a better balance.

I have a 240hz asus oled monitor and a 4090 and what I do if I notice huge framerate swings in a game is cap the framerate in-game at whatever the game can run at consistently to avoid the gamma flicker. Personally I'm not a precise hyper competitive player so anything above 120fps I can barely tell the difference and feels silky smooth enough.

I really wish the strategy layer stuff lasted longer in XCOM 2 before being thrust back into battle. Feels so short.

I love researching, managing all my soldiers, facilities, etc. Hopefully thats more of a thing in Phoenix Point and Xenonauts when I get around to them.

So we could possibly get RDR PC announcement this week. It is Take2 Financial Call on Thursday, May 16th.

oh, neat. 1000 x resist is also on GOG

Will grab it end of the week, depending on how expensive Morbid 2 will be on release.

I was hoping Owlcat would give us a real god to kill. Tired of these demon lord and poser lightweights like Razmir.

Feed me, Iomadae. I want to get like five good hits in on her before a total party wipe occurs.

Welcome to the Museum! Machinika Museum is a mystery game where you discover beautiful and mysterious machines of extra-terrestrial origins in an atmospheric galaxy-spanning 3D puzzle game. Will you be able to understand their stories and discover what happened to their previous owner?

I've really gotten enraptured with Grounded. I dunno why people don't talk about this game more. I played it a little bit at EA launch and maybe a touch at actual launch. It's probably the best open world survival craft game I've played and I've played at least 16 of them (quick count on steam).

Grounded's been on my list of games to check out ever since I realized you didn't have to play it co-op, maybe I should move it up some once I've had my fill of Abiotic Factor.

Chapter 5 of 1000xResist.

Holy shit.

Holy shit.
I love a good story, but this game is sci-fi right? How hard is it to follow? Some of the high-concept stuff involving any time-travel, multiverses, or anything that jumps around a lot are just not enjoyable for me.(or my brain)

Do achievements unlock if I preaviously met requirements?
Installing the game right now, they should unlock as soon as I load my game since I met the requirements back in days.
EDIT: And apparently my savegame is gone from Steam Cloud? Steam tells me I have no savegame stored, maybe GrassHoper introduced Steam Cloud with this patch and wasn't supported back in days?

Anyway just discovered this:

Have a Nice Dream on Steam

A story about dreams. Explore a weird house and find the truth. A short game with mild puzzles and some psychological horror elements.
It seems interesting.

Does Grounded play well as a podcast game? I need something to dump time into while I burn through some dense audiobooks and podcasts. I dont like Minecraft but something similarly chill but more structured would be pretty ideal.

Sci Fi yes. It's fairly easy to follow, there's no time-travel or multiverses going on right now, if you could follow Nier Automata or some of the better Star Trek episodes it's fine. There's a whole lot of allegory going on with it's themes and how it explores those.

There's a lot of mystery to unravel too, this might take greater turns later on in the game. I've not finished it yet.
