Bought both Animal Well and Balatro.

Having a pretty good time with Animal Well for the first hour. So far not seeing the Outer Wilds aspect in it, and I haven't really figured out the objectives besides trying to progress forward, and solving the obstacles in the room, but it does look and feel good. It's a bit stressful at some points, and it feels like it just continues without giving any pause, but it's also very addictive to just continue. It's a bit annoying with the save system, but it's so far not that bad, considering how easy, quick and smooth movement and progress is.

Not really a 10/10 so far for me, but still very good.

As for Balatro, I'm really not feeling it at all so far, and I might refund it before the 2h marks. I'm playing, winning some hands, figuring out some stuff, but it's not the slightest addictive so far. I play a couple of hands, and is kinda bored after that, and quit the game.

Great month for indie games, but those big releases can still drown out other games.

My Humble Store and Steam carts are crazy today. So much good stuff.

View: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1644940/Loddlenaut/

It's funny as people are falling over themselves in the Buy/Sell/Trade Thread trying to score cheap keys for Hi-Fi Rush and Like a Dragon from the latest Humble Choice. But when I looked at the lineup the one that caught my eye was Loddlenaut.

I got lucky and nabbed a key from B/S/T and early impressions are that it's quite the charmer.

Imagine a hybrid of PowerWash Simulator and Slime Rancher by way of A Short Hike presentation. It's way chill & pleasant. Great podcast / unwind material.

Keep an eye out if you enjoy relaxing OCD titles like PowerWash and Viscera Cleanup Detail. I'm glad I sought it out as it's 1000% my jam.

Anyone playing Cryptmaster? It's part of a really good bundle with 1000xresist so was wondering if it's worth it. Reviews seem very positive (outside of one Slant review)

lol, literally just finishing that up. One of my favorite things about humble choice is there being some random game like this that I just never heard of that I enjoy every few months.

Kind of glad to see Gestalt: Steam and Cinder delayed because of just how many indies are dropping in the next couple of weeks.

Nice to see Isles of Sea and Sky get a date but its pretty much fallen into that window where Gestalt was. Looks good so looking forward to it.

Grabbed Moonlight Pulse, 1000xResist and Crow Country earlier. Have Little Kitty, Big City on Series S because of GP and Animal Well on PS5 but I'll likely grab it on Steam as well. Going to be a busy weekend and then it'll all start again next week with more indie games.

It feels like Sony is ignoring Demon's Souls and Bloodborne PC ports out of spite.
I feel like these would be the two games that would sell the best on PC too...

It is really weird that they refuse to port the two titles that would actually sell really, really well - the titles that PC players are actively asking for. These games would easily out-sell their sad dad games.

The simple answer is (perhaps) they don't port them because they are not wholly in-house, and they build demand for follow-up games that will not come.

Hopefully someone is able to create a "Shut the fuck up companion, stop blurting out the solution to the puzzle the second I enter a puzzle room" mod so I can actually enjoy the game.
I didn't beat the game (only got to a little after getting Tyr out) but god damn fuckin' Atreus wouldn't let me think for one minute. I knew what I had to do and I was just exploring the area to see the whole picture and he's like "FATHER, COME HERE I THINK YOU HAVE TO DO THIS". BOY. I KNOW.

Great month for indie games, but those big releases can still drown out other games.

It was kind of hard to tell what kind of game this was from the description, so from watching the video I wondered if the premise was that you were a tiny person running a miniature magic factory inside that woman's magic staff and you had to concoct magic spells on the fly whenever she "cast" something.

This is cool too (I think you're a normal-sized person running a magic factory that just gives spells to Fay and she uses them later?) but I can't stop thinking of that image of the tiny person frantically shoving magic reagents around because Fay yelled "MAGIC MISSILE!" and no one knows what the hell that even means yet because magic is new, lol.

Anyways, wishlisted, this looks neat!

Next week is Morbid 2 time, anyway.

This is neat. Would really like that rumour about the Greek trilogy remaster to be true though. Would rather play these in order from the first.

I'm pretty sure I have hollowbody wishlisted on GOG. Don't remember if I actually played the demo, may need to remedy that.

It's genuinely the only reason I stopped playing the game, it was aggravating.

there's a demo to it still avalible.
I gave it a go. I was impressed with how much text it is able to react to, and found aspects of it interesting. But I didn't fall in love with the guessing game to unlock chests, or needing to remember words to type during combat. Like typing stuff is fine, but I just couldn't remember stuff because I'm bad at that stuff lol.

There is a giant list of words to eventually remember for commands for everything. There is a turn based mode which I assume just lets me choose words and what not but while I thought the typing and word stuff was interesting, I didn't really love how that effected the pacing and felt like there wouldn't really be a time I would be truly drawn to play the game.

So even though I'm leaning towards getting 1000xResist, I'm likely going to pass on Cryptmaster, but that being said I do recommend you give the demo a try if it interests you, especially if you like dungeon crawl games, as it's interesting, just not quite for me. It's well made, and has a lot of love in it, that much was obvious. Like if I was told to play through it as a reviewer I have little doubt I would leave a positive review for it from what I played, I just don't see myself motivated to play through it on my own which means I should save my $10.

Played 1000xRESIST for about an hour and just finished Chapter 1. The writing is so, so good. Really hope the game manages to maintain this quality throughout, because this is looking like something really special.

I'm guessing the demo covered mostly chapter 1, I'm hoping for more reactions from later parts of the game, though I'm happy to hear the positive buzz. I liked a lot of things about the game, but I was def concerned that the game might lean into homophobia and making us really hate Iris which since part of the mystery is learning about Iris would really sour my desire to learn more as I in general don't care about learning more awful things an awful person did. So I've been kind of sitting back and waiting for a few more reviews to come in that talk a bit more about the game and see if those become an issue or not. They easily could be handled just fine, but there were enough flags in the demo that it became a concern of mine for how they might be handled going forward.

The sale of my PC will probably go through tomorrow :(
I will be reduced to a Switch + indies and emulation on an M1 Air. This might turn out to be a blessing though because indies have been incredible in the last couple of years and I already have a sizeable collection of them on Steam.
I'll probably play Chained Echoes when I'm done with FFIX (playing this one on Switch).
Wish I could keep the PC until Ghost of Tsushima at least. But I'm sure there'll be another announcement and then another and... I'll end up never selling at this rate.

Thanks! I think I'll give the demo a shot for sure and will see if it clicks
