I mean it's only a week before release. No real way to avoid it at this point, game has to be getting ready to be shipped to stores and whatnot so people will start swiping it.
Retail stores got copies a week early?! That's wild. Only consolation is the linked Reddit post's OP refuses to spoil anything. But if stores have copies this early, all heck is gonna break loose.
it's been like that since forever, i can't recount how many times i've got games in advance, since i was a kid
biggest was my store getting Resident evil 0 3 weeks in advance
It's not uncommon for stores to get major new releases up to a week beforehand but they will all need to be accounted for so it's not like you can just sell one or take one without consequences. Also fwiw usually they only show up a day or two before. not a whole week. But the way it tends to go is that the publishers send them to the warehouses and the warehouses send them out to the stores. We're most likely in the warehouse stage right now. Not a shock that during all of this someone ends up taking one home.

Do we have any performance "leaks"? I want to know how the quality mode behaves in the retail build.
They boasted there will not be a day one patch though, so the disc version will be what it is.
We were expecting/hoping for a higher build number on retail vs. demo. Anyways, looks like it's a completely different build:
I'd be worried about trophies being spoilers. Like say there's a defeat Torgal trophy.

It has never happened despite most games leaking in advance.
All I'm hearing is that the demo was version 1.01, but the retail has gone backwards into version 1.00 and is GOING TO RUN AT TEN FRAMES PER SECOND.
It's over.
I hope the trophies involving animal cruelty are hidden, just like any story spoiler trophies.
I just want to know how crazy the skill based trophies will be...
