Have the devs actually said there is supposed to be a free upgrade for the PS4 version? I just figured that it wasn't happening, but I don't have a Twitter account and couldn't find any kind of official statement anywhere.

Yes, they said.

For example:

Finally got some stick drift on my left joystick on my Dualsense Edge. Why in the living fuck are they almost ALWAYS out of stock on replacement modules? It feels like it only shows up in stock once a month.

Since there are some anime enjoyers here go play Prince of Persia the lost crown as it has a lot of anime energy in every boss fight. It is a surprisingly good game and I can't put it even after beating it to get those last items.

Gonna be a while before I reach it, only just killed Garuda on FF mode, but it's gonna be fun going through this game again with new content to look forward to. Most excited for the new Kairos Gate mode and more sweet Soken music

I had completed FF mode as part of the Platinum, but I skipped all side content on that run. I picked the game up at the weekend to do all the side content, hunts and Echoes of the Fallen again in FF mode and it's been great fun. Got a few hunts left to do tonight but should be able to start it later.

I had thought about doing some of the stages again as well, those highs in FFXVI are super high, like you say, it would be fun to go through them again.

Skoda is Coming to Gran Turismo 7, Vision GT Car to be Revealed Next Week

Skoda has posted a teaser of its Vision Gran Turismo car as the marque prepares to make its entrance into the Gran Turismo series at long last -- and soon. The Vision GT car is set to be revealed next week, with a live event broadcast from the PLAYzone Arena in Prague -- hinting at a physical mod

Polyphony's goal to get every car manufacturer in existence to make them a VGT continues unabated.

The influence GT has outside the gaming industry is unmatched probably in the industry.
To have several car manufacturers design/develop a "real" car for a game still blows my mind.

Alright, I got some free time on my hands. Here's some very early, not at all premature, totally reasonable, absolutely feasible PlayStation Showcase 2024 predictions (not in chronological order or anything, just a bunch of stuff I expect to be shown):

-Concord gameplay deep-dive and release date (September 2024), closed beta in July for Plus subscribers, open beta in August for everyone
-Cory Barlog's project reveal. it's a new IP. In-engine gameplay is used. Slated for 2026 release.
-Insomniac reveals Venom, a standalone single-player game similar to Miles Morales, coming out in 2025.
-Monster Hunter Wilds gameplay and release date, January 2025. Some console exclusive content disclosed in the blog.
-Resident Evil 9 revealed, coming next year.
-Astro's Worlds, a new single-player 3D platformer from Team Asobi, releases this November.
-Bluepoint reveals they're making a spin-off game in the God of War universe. Deploys similar gameplay mechanics to the reboot.
-Kingdom Hearts IV gets re-revealed, gameplay and new story details shown, no release window to the chagrin of fans.
-New game from Ember Labs gets revealed, it's a new IP, this time published by Sony. No release date.
-Guerrilla reveals their Horizon Online game, slated for 2025.
-Sucker Punch reveals the Ghost of Tsushima sequel. Takes place in mainline Japan and has a greater emphasis on the Shogun as the antagonists.
-One last thing: Neil Druckmann gives us a sneak peak into Naughty Dog's new IP, mostly concept art and an idea of what the world is. He says it's their biggest project yet and we see a small CG trailer of the game. It's given a codename title and no release date.
Honestly would have me super hyped up to pick up my PS5 Pro later this year in preparation for next year.

How many people complained about Obsidian working on NV? I would say the overwhelming majority actually wants to see NV2 by Obsidian.

RaD was successful with the GoW spin-offs. They got to make 2 of them and afterwards Sony funded their first AAA game that was a new IP.

Retro also gets a lot of praise for their games even though none of them are new IPs.
I mean, you can go on and look at Baldur's Gate 3. Did Larian get hate for working on that IP?

The obsession that Bluepoint of all studios, that is specialised in remaking old games, has to make a completely new IP for their very first original AAA game is so weird.
You really don't see the difference here? New Vegas released same year as Alpha Protocol, original title by Obsidian.

RaD had their chance at their own original title after 3 PSP games and yes, people were happy at the time that studio was finally making a completely new game in a completely new franchise for home console, so let's not twist it.

Yes, Retro really is stayed with 2 or 3 established franchises but again, they made revolution with Prime, which changed the usual formula in vein of GoW1-3 > 2018. Even more, I'll say. But again, people would be happy if in the future Retro presented their own original universe in form of premium title for Nintendo console. So happened, that original developers of Prime 4 shat their pants big time and who would save the situation if not Retro.

Bluepoint made fuckton of remasters throughout the years and years of Playstation partnership. Even updated lots of 3rd party projects. 2 great remakes of cult PS titles, last of which released in 2020. 4 years in, development is taking longer and longer and what is most likely their new title? God of War spin-off ffs. Yes, it could be that it was the project they dreamed of, in that case I'm fine with it. But personally I'm tired seeing all-around capable studio function as a support for the series which consists of 8 titles. Could not imagine more yawn-inspiring scenario.

Bluepoint, KH4, Cory's game, and Concord would be stellar. Anything else would be gravy.

I think we're going to see that dollar game and Death Stranding 2 though.

I expect Death Stranding 2 later this year at TGA for a release date trailer.
We just had a very long trailer in Februari (?) so would be very suprised if we got another one next month.

Investing in new IPs may be risky from the point of view of publishers, but from the point of view of developers I can't see how they wouldn't want to create their own stuff. Especially nowadays with those very long development time, when you are a senior at a game studio you want to make the most of the opportunites you have and not spend your career making games from a universe borrowed from someone else.

Bluepoint could go with another remake or a new IP, the two outcomes would be nice but the middle way of "yeah it's original content but in a franchise you already know" is just not satisfying from a creative standpoint.

releasing concord in September is setting it up to die when the new black ops comes out.

They either need to release it by June, or next February.

You don't put it anywhere near the first COD that has had a full 3 years of production time.
