Politico: FCC to seek total repeal of net neutrality rules, sources say

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai will reveal plans to his fellow commissioners on Tuesday to fully dismantle the agency's Obama-era net neutrality regulations, people familiar with the plans said, in a major victory for the telecom industry in the long-running policy debate.

Trump-appointed Pai's plan would scrap the agency's core net neutrality rules, which prohibit internet service providers like Comcast or Verizon from blocking or slowing web traffic or negotiating paid deals with websites for "fast lanes" to consumers. The FCC will vote on the change in December.

There's nothing to be done. It's timed with the thanksgiving holiday so people are distracted and offices will be closed. Even worse if it does take up a ton of focus it'll detract from the tax bill which is far more important to shut down. That bill is going to lead to a ton of cuts next year to fill the deficit gap if it passes.


EDIT: I mean there's nothing to be done right now. This is happening with out a vote and too soon for anybody to do anyting about right now. This shit can be rolled back so call your reps. tell them this is important to you and an issue that will sway your vote. They'll start talking about it and news agecies will start talking about it.

Other than this being bad policy for the country, this feels like terrible policy for the Republicans. What better way to enthuse young people to participate in government than to threaten their favorite institution? Especially given the wide spread, bi-partisan support for Net Neutrality.

Just think of how much damage one person can do with a backhoe...How many people will finally decide "enough is enough" and take the fight personally to the ISPs? How long much they bleed us dry? I propose we rent backhoes and drive them up to their regional HQs. "It'd be a shame if something were to happen to your infrastructure."

Maybe have more then 2 sides, would probably increase voter turnout too. Right now it is corporate + corporate light in my opinion. How could anybody get excited outside of fear and racism?

Honestly, does Rep calling even do anything? You could easily ignore any callers and give them the illusion you heard their voices. =/
