it helps that when you edit right away it doesn't show the little "this comment was edited on XX:XX time" thing

This is my life.

In work emails I get a 90 second window in order to proof read where I can undo. For long emails, I get over it quickly and say "fuck it" and hit send, but then scan for issues and hit UNDO to revise it. This can go for several cycles.

Posting here, I'll often make several edits to fix my shitty grammar.

yes, even if you stealth edit within 5 minutes, they can see the original version of the post so you had better be careful to avoid rudeness or otherwise bannable behaviour
