Yes, but what if she was actually a small child in wheelchair and the bus ran her over? Where's the line here. This is a slippery slope.
They would call us nigger then whip us, it's poetic to whip their ass for saying it nowadays.Maybe we shouldn't equate not liking them beating up a racist old lady for being racist to being a fake ally. I've been called a nigger several times throughout my life and no time did it ever feel anywhere as bad as being beaten into a hospital. So yeah, you can definitely argue that she went overboard with her reaction.
What if she was hit with a croquet mallet? What if she had a beehive thrown at her? What if Medusa turned her into a pillar of salt?
Same here. I got teased on the bus by this pos in particular for being heavy. Every damn day I got on he'd say something about my weight. The Bus driver didn't give a shit.Real talk, I got so much shit for my hair as a kid. "Why is it like that? It's like a brillo pad! It's so fucking weird". No one had any answers for what I should do when people dug into me for that. And it didn't stop until I chokeslammed a kid through a desk.
But I tried that. "you mop head, you stick, you...you...literal bastion of what the world tells me is normal".
Fuck off with that "just insult them back" shit.
"They" are different people. I don't really see the poetry in that. They would call us nigger then whip us, it's poetic to whip their ass for saying it nowadays.
I wouldn't shed any tears if a racist person dies. With that said, I don't think everyone has to agree that violence is an appropriate response. That's a perfectly reasonable stance.People who don't like violence are fake allies now. Just because some one is being racist doesn't mean any response is appropriate. If she was shot would you say the same thing?
"They" are different people. I don't really see the poetry in that.
Same shit, different era. "They" just don't have the same visceral means to go about it."They" are different people. I don't really see the poetry in that.
Did I miss the part where this woman is the leader of a group about to commit genocide?
If the person who assualted her was black I would never trust the criminal justice system to give them a fair shot. Can we somehow punish all involved?
Charge the racist woman for disturbing the peace and inciting violence, and find out whoever assaulted her and charge them too.
How's that work then? Offsetting charges like offsetting penalties in the NFL?
Pretty much. Can't say she deserved to get beaten that badly, but you say shit like that in front of strangers you shouldn't expect to be treated well after...
Uhhh... Didn't read the article, but based on the video, the altercation seems like it started due to the people she was yelling at playing their music out loud, which is annoying as fuck on public transit, and I'm surprised the bus driver didn't tell them to turn it off. Then they start physically assaulting her because she's yelling at them.
I'm not condoning her racism, but they seem to have started the whole thing and immediately resorted to violence before she even said the word. And that last shot of her bleeding really badly on the ground outside doesn't help them at all.
How's that whole "sticks and stones" thing go? They'd already been filming her. Put her on blast on social media for this shit and call attention to how shit she is. Don't beat her though.
What in the fuck? You seriously condoning people blasting their music in public?Another person telling black people how to act and respond, doesn't this shit get old? "Stop playing your music so loud! Stop getting mad at racism! That bus driver should've helped the poor white racist. Now now settle down!"
Get off your fucking high horse.

lol come on now, "they started it"I'm not condoning her racism, but they seem to have started the whole thing and immediately resorted to violence before she even said the word.
That is a huge issue, way bigger than racism right? Just as bad as being dehumanized. What in the fuck? You seriously condoning people blasting their music in public?
You're adding in pieces without seeing the picture of the puzzle on the box.Uhhh... He quite obviously didn't mean he'd beat up a womanI'm not judging but, you'd beat up a woman? I can't imagine myself doing that.
Another person telling black people how to act and respond, doesn't this shit get old? "Stop playing your music so loud! Stop getting mad at racism! That bus driver should've helped the poor white racist. Now now settle down!"

How the hell did you interpret his post? LolAnother person telling black people how to act and respond, doesn't this shit get old? "Stop playing your music so loud! Stop getting mad at racism! That bus driver should've helped the poor white racist. Now now settle down!"
Get off your fucking high horse.
Absolutely not. Did you read my post, or is everybody just gonna dogpile on me now without even thinking straight? You're condoning calling black people who play their music too loud in public niggers?
I think for any situations there are appropriate, gray and unacceptable responses. To me this is gray, but to those who point the action wasnt appropriate it does not mean they do not recognize the struggle of black people in that scenario. Violence may be too much for them, but that does not mean they are in favor of silence just not this specific response. It does when said "ally" is more interested in making sure black people play nice and respond to racism just the right way instead of the actions of the racist. If we're making up what if scenario: there's more than enough of them where black people would simply yell at said racist in response and, in a world built by white supremacy, that black person would still be in the wrong for not just staying quiet and taking it. If you want to be an ally, you should start switching your framing to acknowledge a world where only black silence is of value and any negative response to centuries and centuries of racism is frowned upon. Then you'll at least be close to empathizing with black people who have to hear the N-word come out of the mouths of white people in 2018.
No, but if you call a black person the n word infront of a bunch of people then you shouldn't expect to get off without a verbal beatdown atleast. So if I tell you to turn the music down, it's ok for me to expect to be smacked in the back of the head?
Seems reasonable.
If you're a racist, yeah you should expect that, and the lady is a racist. So if I tell you to turn the music down, it's ok for me to expect to be smacked in the back of the head?
Seems reasonable.

We don't see her racism until she's smacked in the head.Did you call them the n word when you asked them to turn it down?
Lots of hypotheticals flying around today.
Nice shitpost.HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
i love these replies lmao.
So if I tell you to turn the music down, it's ok for me to expect to be smacked in the back of the head?
Seems reasonable.
The racist lady's reaction to that though was uncalled for. At that point, I'd just get up and move to a different seat.
So what is the line for you? If somebody calls you a nigger, what action is too much of a response?Same shit, different era. "They" just don't have the same visceral means to go about it.
Do you know for a fact who struck first? Because the video starts already in progress.Absolutely not. Did you read my post, or is everybody just gonna dogpile on me now without even thinking straight?
They're blasting their music on public transit. Shit's annoying. She starts yelling at them, they physically assault her, then she calls them the n word as she gets off (I didn't defend this by the way), so somebody beats her even more.
What in the fuck? You seriously condoning people blasting their music in public?
