Would like a coastline rework but feels lower priority than others (Bank Border and Consulate especially) all of which are in ranked and from launch.
I'm really hoping they bring back outback or rework it as it is my favourite map in the game, and I feel Villa needs some work too.
Consulate has already been reworked so I'd be surprised if they go back to it anytime soon. Bank and Border are both a bit stale, but I'm not sure that they need major improvements or changes. They've actually adapted pretty well to the new operator metas. Coastline is a total frag map, so I wouldn't mind them making utility more viable on the map, but it'll always be a competitive, fun map I think.
They anchor the map rotation and Ubi really can't afford to fuck up any of them. Bank/Border/Coastline/Club House define what core Siege gameplay is to me.
The problem with Ubi reworking maps is half of their map reworks are even worse than the original, and then it takes them another year (or more) to admit that they made a mistake and remove it.
Villa sucks honestly. I hate defending on it and I hate attacking on it and since I've put so many hours into the game I feel like me saying that kind of means something about the map balance being a little bit weird. Bank needs and update too for sure, but mostly in the top back area imo. The rest is more or less okay.
I'm also really disappointed that they still cater so heavily to pro play in terms of why they set up ranked the way it is. I get presidential plane shouldn't be in there, but the house rework I thought to be fairly competitive as far as ranked goes even if it is still the smallest map. But removing other ones like outback and a couple others outright wasn't the right move either in my opinion. Yacht for example, Probably doesn't scale up all that well to the new operator metas at this point, but they removed it so long ago while it was still a fairly well balanced map in terms of the KD numbers on attack and defend from what I remember them sharing at the time.
Also does anybody have thoughts as to why the new skyscraper rework is constantly banned? I think it's great, it seems largely unchanged from the strength of the original version has but I've honestly only played on it about four times in rank since it relaunched because it always gets voted out.
It's almost "always ban Thatcher, Jackal, Cav and Clash" levels of meme banning now.

Villa is too fucking big. In siege, big = defender sided and given that there are no bomb sites in the basement and you can't meaningfully attack any of the bomb sites using the basement, I don't understand why it exists. In fact, there's very little interplay between the bomb sites other than the occasional buck from below, which makes it very stale and uninteresting (especially when every game ends up being attacking/defending the two upstairs sites for nine consecutive rounds).
I also like the Skyscraper rework, but OG Skyscraper was one of my favorite maps period (even as it became crazy unbalanced due to changes in the meta). The ranked rotation is thin enough that people end up always wanting to play the same core maps because they know how to attack and defend them: the A-tier of Bank, Border, Coastline, Club House, but also some Kafe, Oregon, and Consulate thrown in there too. On Consulate I would just say that while they buffed it compared with what they've done with other maps it is very minor. There are still too few viable bomb sites imo.
Yeah I'm not a fan of Villa. I have a strategy for attacking it generally but one of my least favourites.
I have played new Skyscraper something like twice.. Reworked maps always get banned so I don't have much of a view on skyscraper . Is annoying because I actually really like Chalet now but it still always gets banned.
I agree with you on house as well - wish they could keep more maps in ranked playlist than competitive because variety is good - House and Outback are good and reasonably competitive maps imo.

Flores plus Zero and the team give 18 cameras. And 20 if Twitch ends up getting regular drones. Lord.
I don't mind Villa. Consulate is just so boring, it's one of my least favorite maps. Border is stale, but it USED to be my favorite map in the game, I think it's just some minor changes away from being totally fine still. The biggest issue to me is how easy it is to isolate entire sections of the map from defenders and how safely you can push some areas.
Really, I am over the 'reworks' - I think new theme is fine, but I still also liked old theme and miss it from time to time. House rework seemed pointless as soon as they said 'casual' with it. Consulate changes didn't really do anything. Skyscraper is actually a really good rework, imo, but it gets banned 24-7 right now so I've only played it a handful of times (when both teams would rather play it than consulate and border, basically).
Kanal rework and club house rework are the right tier of rework - the map 'buff' style. I know Kanal was a bit more extensive but it didn't alter the flow nearly as much. Club House is legitimately one of the best maps in the game and basically all they did was add one TINY room, which is crazy. It shows how little you actually need to change for most of these maps. Something like skyscraper or house basically feels like a new map at the cost of an old one, which isn't necessarily better. I think even something like new Hereford can be saved without a ton of effort compared to the remade ones, just need to spice up the 'good' sites like tractor/ammo enough that you don't spend 5 rounds attacking/defending the same sites.

I actually think that the after death control favors defenders if you have echo and or maestro, but the gulf between controlling those two after death and controlling anyone else that basically still doesn't have a gadget is pretty silly. Attacker repick is huge though and I think sticks, the after death droning I bet gets pulled in testing to be retooled. It just does too much for attackers and TWO defenders, and nothing for every other defender. It does encourage saving drones more for casual or solo ranked, which I like.
Oh right Mozzie as well, I usually think of him as intel denial rather than actually HAVING a drone, but I suppose it encourages you to take some more now. Or it's at least a nice perk to getting one.
AR33 is one of my favorite weapons, so glad that at least one of the ops running it won't be permabanned
Also this push against the 20 second meta is HUGE. The game has been so reliant on frags (and Thatcher, but he gets banned on everything that's not Coastline anyways) to clear some of the most powerful defender gadgets (deployables, Melusis, evil eyes, etc.) and yet they've always been so resistant to give operators those tools because of how strong they are against players. I love deployable shields because, with the snap function, they truly allow you to recreate a bomb site defense (like Mira) which is what Siege is all about, but they're clearly way too strong right now.
The fact that the game has three Thatcher-like gadgets hopefully solves the Thatcher-ban-meta problem for good, and I like that these Y6 changes really bring Mute back into the utility meta with how important drone denial is going to be -- without the deployable shield he normally has a lot less margin for error than Smoke bc you can't create tight shotgun angles.

I really have no idea how this is going to change the game. It seems so foreign right after the reveal, but I'm interested in trying it all.
What's the deal with Mute now? He counters all attacker gadgets? Airjabs, claymores, any else. Did he counter breaches, and cluster charges already?They all just permanently don't work if a jammer is in range?

This is so generous, I'd say overly so. I was thinking the change would make me more conscious of deployment but it being included is pretty nuts, you'd have to almost secure the drone kill as a defender.
Yeah, this is the first I had seen this. Location of the drone and how quickly it appears is going to be interesting. I'm already planning to die to someone swinging on me to trade while I'm trying to secure a drone kill on multiple occasions.
Watching today live was nuts. I'm much more excited at this point than fearful of the changes. But damn, this season is going to be hard to beat.
Hmm I'm interested in the drone changes but not sure about this. I guess defenders can just "double tap" but it still seems too generous.
Yeah I don't see drone dropping on death making it past the TTS. Also, as someone who plays on both console and PC, this is going to be so much harder to deal with on console where drones are that much harder to shoot.
They should just double the strength of his barricades, attackers have so many options now.
