  • President Trump's tax returns
  • Trump family businesses — and whether they comply with the Constitution's emoluments clause, including the Chinese trademark grant to the Trump Organization
  • Trump's dealings with Russia, including the president's preparation for his meeting with Vladimir Putin
  • The payment to Stephanie Clifford — a.k.a. Stormy Daniels
  • James Comey's firing
  • Trump's firing of U.S. attorneys
  • Trump's proposed transgender ban for the military
  • Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin's business dealings
  • White House staff's personal email use
  • Cabinet secretary travel, office expenses, and other misused perks
  • Discussion of classified information at Mar-a-Lago
  • Jared Kushner's ethics law compliance
  • Dismissal of members of the EPA board of scientific counselors
  • The travel ban
  • Family separation policy
  • Hurricane response in Puerto Rico
  • Election security and hacking attempts
  • White House security clearances

Does three members of Mar-a-Lago who are secretly running the VA despite not being in the government not even make the list?

3 of Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort members (including Marvel CEO) secretly run Dept. of Veterans Affairs

I like how they are outright admitting that they aren't doing there job. Also please add the Niger ambush to that list it's crazy that everyone has forgotten about that.

What's really great about this is it provides Dem voters with a convenient list of things to take their reps to task on.

We'll be lucky if Dems launch any of these. The party are masters of doing nothing to make Republicans answer for their bullshit, citing dumb "it's not strategically viable to do this at this time" non-reasons.
I basically think if dems take power, it will be nothing but investigations (and bills that will get vetoed). Which is fine by me. Didn't the same happen under Bush when dems took control? I can't see that not happening with Trump.

I'm amazed that it's a sensible list. I was expecting some kind of dog whistle bullshit but everything on that list is genuinely worthy of a full investigation

They missed one: the botched Niger raid. That needs to be investigated ASAP and with 10 times the resources of bullshit Benghazi investigation.

Start with the White House email use. Just as a fun appetizer and expert trolling exercise.

please vote in September. Canada is counting on an opposition legislature to stop the next 2 years of craziness.

If you got a list of fuckups that you're actively burying while in office, hoping the other side doesn't get power in order to investigate your fuckups, you probably have no place in any elected office.

Basically Democrats want to investigate the suspicious things that SHOULD be investigated. It's just like Trump, "Can't we all just conspire, scheme and fuck over the nation in privacy?! These people that want to expose us, THEY are the REAL monsters!"

There isn't nearly enough time or resources to investigate all of the complete and utter bullshit they have been pulling for the past year and a half.

Dems seriously need to have a solid strategy and investigation schedule. All of the things on that list need to be investigated and so much more. Where do we even start?

A lot of these may be able to be rolled up into Mueller's investigation and might not be worth the time and effort to re-investigate. That might clear up some space and resources.

Like these:
  • James Comey's firing
  • Trump's firing of U.S. attorney
  • Jared Kushner's ethics law compliance
  • Trump's dealings with Russia, including the president's preparation for his meeting with Vladimir Putin
  • The payment to Stephanie Clifford — a.k.a. Stormy Daniels

Hope they can pull it off. Just feels like there's too much working against Dems for them to actually flip anything.

If they flip the house I'm willing to make a bet we won't see half of these. I'd love for them to, but Democrats are not aggressive at all in these kinds of things.
The reason why this list exists is because House Democrats have already been demanding these investigations over the past two years. You can make the argument that they only did it because they don't have the power to make it happen, but I don't think your initial post is taking the full context into account.

This is the kind of shit Congress should be on top of regardless of party affiliation. You know, as one of the checks on executive power that's supposed to keep democracy properly functioning?

Isn't that in Pentagons wheelhouse? How often Congress actually goes after them for botched ops?
Operations like these need Presidential approval, just like the botched Yemen raid (another feather in Trump's hat). There was less than credible chance of yielding success but both the raids were a go anyway.

The problem with checks and balances is that the founding fathers assumed that across hundreds of years it wouldn't get fucked up by at least one of the viable political parties casting away all concept of shame.

The Puerto Rico in particular needs to happen. It needs to become public knowledge how many people died as a direct result of Trump's inaction.

A lot of them are probably implicated by these stories. Not included in this list is the one where the NRA was receiving funding from Russian-linked donors.

Won't believe it until I see it unfortunately.
It's what happened under Bush.
The new Democratic majority's zeal for congressional investigations goes well beyond Alberto Gonzales and the fired federal prosecutors.

Aided by a new investigative team including a former mob prosecutor and a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter, Democrats have launched more than three dozen probes of the administration ranging from the White House to obscure agency heads. The House Oversight Committee alone has conducted 20 investigations.

...

With few legislative accomplishments in hand -- and only a few prospects in the offing -- it seems plain the 110th is shaping up as "The Oversight Congress."

This is troubling news for the Bush White House and Republicans. No fewer than six administration officials have resigned already amid the congressional probes -- and many more are in Democratic sights.

They are targeting a sweep of people and issues. Some are high-profile, such as the leaking of Valerie Plame's CIA identity or the U.S. attorney firings, subjects that make for compelling cable news dramas.

But many more are mundane: inefficiency at the federal crop insurance program or conflicts of interest in FDA contracting. Some are pragmatic, such as an examination of food safety following outbreaks of illness caused by contaminated peanut butter and spinach. Others are tragic: the death of Army Ranger Pat Tillman and the misleading information the military provided to his family.

"We're seeing results when we peel away some of the layers in every department," said Rep. Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.), a member of the House Judiciary Committee. "People felt they could do whatever they wanted for whatever reason."

Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, said Democrats had a mountain of issues to investigate.

"We have a huge backlog, and we'll try to use what we can to get to everything," he said.

There's really no reason it wouldn't happen under an even more corrupt president.

That's just one example they have execs from every type of business directly directing policy for instance 2 steel companies directly have control over who gets wavers in tarrifs that benefited those 2 companies only. It's the same across all agencies and department s. Corruption like we have never witnessed.

There will be tons of investigations. House committees have subpoena power.
