I really wanted the demo this weekend to end E3 in style :(
RE3 felt inconsequential after you finish it. If they remake it, it should just be part of RE2MAKE Expansion.
Like name it "RE2 -- Nemesis Chapter".
Code Veronica felt more like RE sequel.
In the gamespot video Leon ended up with a bitemark on his neck which was very visible during the cutscene. The story probably assumes you never get bit or injured throughout the whole ordeal
They promised game for fans of action RE about a year ago. I'm sure it's coming.
September 28th. Daylight.
The monsters have overtaken the city.
Somehow.......I'm still alive.
3 was literally 2.5
CV was way longer and it actually tried to be a real sequel.
I consider RE2+RE3+Outbreak to be Raccoon City trilogy. Hell, make Outbreak as the multiplayer for RE2make, now you get the ultimate Raccoon City experience.RE3 was a longer game than RE2, and they shared very little in common. I also think there's a lot of room for RE2 to be expanded by itself, and a lot of room for RE3 to be expanded by itself. Plus it'd be weird that RE3 just stopped existing as an entity in the future. It'd ruin the series numbering. Plus both RE2 and RE3 had a ton of scrapped concepts worth exploring (REmake 2 is pulling a surprising amount from RE1.5 and RE2 concept art, Ada is wearing a trenchcoat she wore in RE2 concept art, Mr. X's fedora self is from RE2 concept art, Marvin's expanded role is from 1.5, etc.).
RE2 and RE3 being conjoined never made sense to me, nor is what I want personally. Both games do far more different and uniquely than some give them credit for, and there's enough potential for both to stand alone and build further on their own ideas than be watered down and slapped together.
Does anyone know if this remake will feature a full robust soundtrack like the vanilla on playstation 1?
Someone said if you preorder the deluxe you can get the original soundtrack.
Is said soundtrack actually in game music???
They need to remake RE4 after this. I need a Leon REmake duology. Imagine the castle levels and the boss fights remade in this engine. It would be glorious.
All they need to do is put it on a button that isn't already heavily used. I always get fucked over at a point where three dogs are charging at once because I wait until the last moment with the shotgun to get them all in one hit, and Jill dodges instead and leaves me with dogs surrounding me every time. Revelations 2 had an adequate take on the same idea. The dodge mechanic should probably replace defensive weapons in the (hopefully) inevitable RE3make. But make it so that you can't just dodge infinitely. Maybe a stamina meter under your health that slowly refilled could determine your likelyhood of performing a successful dodge. Upon completing the game, turning it off could be an option for those who wanted to attempt a no damage run.
Resident Evil 3 also had Morgan Freeman. The others can't say they had Morgan Freeman.
The weirdest criticism, even more bizarre than 'over the shoulder mean's it's not survival horror', has to be:
'i miss the loading screens because they make the game longer and make the map seem bigger'
People think the loading screens are a feature. That blows my mind.
Adding netcode and all the scenarios, enemies, and locations from Outbreak 1 and 2 while bringing them to modern standard and reimaginong them with the new mechanics, recreating it from the ground-up would sky rocket development cost to easily be at least 3x more than it currently is and easily would add another 4-6 years onto development time. It's not a feasible concept.I consider RE2+RE3+Outbreak to be Raccoon City trilogy. Hell, make Outbreak as the multiplayer for RE2make, now you get the ultimate Raccoon City experience.
Like, fair enough if you think RE3 didn't add anything to the storyline (because that's true), but I refuse to accept the line of thinking that it can just be slapped onto this remake and be called a day. RE2 and RE3 are so different from each other that if you say RE3 should be an expansion to RE2 you might as well say that RE2 should have been an expansion to RE1.
While I agree with you, claiming RE2 to be an expansion of 1 is pretty much on point. It hits most of the same beats as 1, follows the exact same pacing and trajectory, and even recycles some of the puzzles right down to the assets (glares at the "UMB" boxes used to cross a body of water).
Both games feature their biggest areas as their first areas, and said area is navigated with 4 themed keys and there are 4 themed key items needed to unlock a certain door to finally leave. One of the four main keys is found through a detour (Guard House in RE1, Basement in RE2) that sends players back to the initial area to unlock new rooms with existing hallways populated by stronger enemies (Hunters in RE1, Lickers in RE2). Then players explore an underground area (tunnels in RE1, sewers in RE2) where they need to find and use the Eagle and Wolf medals (literally the same key items in both games lol) to access the lab where things will eventually blow up, rocket launcher, self destruct sequence, etc. The MO Disk is also the same key item used in both RE1 and 2, although it's used for different purposes.
Yeah RE2 and RE1 do have similarities, but we've seen with this remake that Capcom are mixing things up and adding a lot of stuff to beef up RE2. I just don't understand how you can look at what Capcom are doing with this remake and think a potential RE3 remake would just be the PS1 game with nothing added to it.
Absolutely. I would want Capcom to take steps as drastic with RE3 (my favorite classic RE game) as they are with this game. All of the possibilities with the varied events and Nemesis as a stalking threat get me so excited. I'd also love to see Nicholai and Mikhail explored further.
It's semi-hilarious to compare the original game's scene with Marvin to the Remake. Going from the ultra-cheesy, "Your party's been... canceled...", to an actually weighted scene that perfectly encapsulates Leon's early naivity to want to help in hell and Marvin's stern but good-willed notion to help his new coworker while under pain.WTF I just watch some dialogue between Leon and the injuried officer.
Wow performance acting is superb.

What's interesting is it gives us an insight and better look at the designs of Claire and Ada.

I want unlockable PS1 low poly model outfits like the ones from RE6.
"We heard your requests regarding classic costumes"I want unlockable PS1 low poly model outfits like the ones from RE6.
I hope it stays to that level throughout but the trailer already had some cheese laid on pretty thick.
I had the chance to get this for $20 a decade ago but didn't. I wish I did, the GC version of 2,3 and CVX are tricky to find these days.
Dude I just started RE2 again for the first time in like 12 years the other day, I forgot how bad the cheese really was, it's just over the top. I even remembered most of the lines but just the delivery, jeez. It's semi-hilarious to compare the original game's scene with Marvin to the Remake. Going from the ultra-cheesy, "Your party's been... canceled...", to an actually weighted scene that perfectly encapsulates Leon's early naivity to want to help in hell and Marvin's stern but good-willed notion to help his new coworker while under pain.
Omg if they removed the soundtrack :'(
But we will always have the amazing remasters of Darkside Chronicles made by the original composers
Is there a physical deluxe edition or is it that digital deluxe nonsense?
Because of the d-pad? They could implement REmaster's analog movements to it.It would be really hard to play them in handheld mode. It was bad enough on the original PSP.
Is there a physical deluxe edition or is it that digital deluxe nonsense?
Oh, I'm fine with a code, I just didn't want to have to buy the game digitally to get the extras. There will be a physical. Though likely it'll just be a code in the box for the deluxe items. Which is the standard these days.
Since it's just weapons, costumes, and that original soundtrack mode.
Maybe we'll get a fixed camera RE4 and people can feel what some RE2 fans are feeling with this remake haha :/I wish they had stuck with the laser sight. I've been wanting a true remake of RE4, every since this gen started, I hope this is enough motivation to move forward.
I like how they contextualized the weirdness of the design/layout of the RCPD a bit. (There's a line saying the place used to be a museum.) That was one of the things I really appreciated about the first REmake, and I'm glad they're at least doing a little bit of it in this.
