So it's 100% dark essentially? Or something different?

90% is my upper limit and I tend to prefer 85% if I had the choice. I tried a Lindt 95% and I couldn't do it, it becomes something else at that point.

Yeah, I'm able to force myself to eat 95% if I want the kick but 90% is actually enjoyable.

100% must be mouth puckering bitter.

Same, only time I did 95 is if I wanted a guilt free full bar while I was on heavy keto. I'm good with Lindt 90.

I'm gonna eat it with the lemonade that has not enough sugar to be called lemonade.

I have half a bar of 95% dark chocolate for breakfast every single morning. I love it. 100% chocolate on the other hand is borderline inedible.

They say in their blog that it's different from normal 70+% chocolates. They seem to get sweetness out of the cocoa plant itself.

Edit: It's also 5€ per bar and already sold out.

Having read the article it seems like they have invented a new process to extract natural sweetness from the pulp of the cocoa pod which is what they're using to sweeten it while keeping it 100% cocoa.

Anyone who's ever had a 100% cocoa bar would probably agree. It's very bitter and savoury, more like solid espresso than chocolate (but more cloying because of the fat content).

I think 80% is about the perfect amount of bitterness for me. I can't imagine how horrible 100% tastes.

I've been consuming Zotter 100% cocoa for years and it's lovely stuff. Take a small bite and let it melt in your mouth and appreciate the the cocoa goodness.

100% is not good lol. But it is alright as a snack on long trips in the wilderness as it keeps and has a decent calorie total. I would bring Baker's chocolate lol but it was never...enjoyable merely something to do almost.

I think the highest I enjoyed was 95% but it was in Costa Rica. It was delicious, but in Canada I stick to around 85%.

I always like ritter sport's variety.

I eat 99% bars here and there. It's good to play with something so bitter with your palate, but I definitely wouldn't pop them like regular chocolate. 80-95% is the best

Yeah this seems like it might be good for baking, but I dont think it's gonna be very palatable

Yeah I'm imaging using this in baking, maybe in making extra rich hot chocolate/cocoa, but not sure I'd want to eat a whole bar of it.

I've had 100% cacao bars before, and it's actually really nice in like... 1cm squares. If it's quality single origin beans, it can have really interesting flavor profiles. However, a bit of sugar tends to bring out/highlight some notes, so this may not actually be the "optimal" way to enjoy the flavor of the bean.

Ritter Sport is tricky because it's the same weight as a normal chocolate bar but I'll eat it as much faster because it's so small.

Just eat baker's chocolate at that point. Basically 90 and above, just eat baker's chocolate.

Anything over 85%, no thanks.

100% Sounds impossibly bitter and not particularly edible.

All four of us in my family actually gagged when we tried a 95% piece. Think my mother wanted a 85% and didn't pay close enough attention. You couldn't pay me to eat 100%.

It bullshit protectionism of certain industry players. The same think happened with the Dairy lobby here in the US bitching about Almond, Soy, Rice Milk using the name Milk. You also see it in certain products that have to be made in certain regions to be able to use certain names. A lot of wine, cheese, and meats have this.

I think Ritter Sport chocolate might be the most mainland Europe thing I can think of.
