First project was previously confirmed by Head Of Games as a AAA title, however this is the first mention of what they are cooking up.

  • Become the primary vision holder and hands-on contributor for character, controls, and camera design in an open world action-adventure game
  • The person in this role will lead a team of multi-disciplinary specialists to deliver best-in-class combat and third person action across multiple game modes.
  • Experience developing non-combat forms of action gameplay (driving, mounts, climbing, traversal, platforming, etc.)

Nah, I think I'm good. I hope this company doesn't crunch the everliving hell out of their employees

Games are so far off this kind of news is basically meaningless. I guess I hope the game is good once we see it in 2029?

Kind of funny that we now have three Rockstar-Likes instead of just one (Rockstar, Absurd Ventures and Build a Rocket Boy Games).

Seems like Amy Hennig could be a great fit for this. Uncharted 1-3 were fantastic and for whatever reason we haven't really gotten games like them since. I know she was working on a 3rd person Star Wars that got cancelled, I wonder what she's up to now?

Thankfully Indiana Jones looks like an Uncharted ripoff (I mean Indy even looks like Drake with some of the animations in the trailer), maybe that will be good.

Edit: yes I am aware that Uncharted was heavily, heavily inspired by Indiana Jones. I'm trying to say here that the Indiana Jones game looks heavily, heavily influenced by UC.

I was hoping his new company was secretly working with Rockstar. The company might not have a track record but the talent there does. Whatever this grows into it is many years off from being shown.

Does any of those " new AAA Studio by famous developer X" adventures ever released a game in the last 10-15 years? (Those that are not part of a big Publisher)

Always looked like Investor bait to me.

I don't know about other devs but specifically here they're not only doing gaming, If i remember correctly they're doing audio dramas, comics, games etc. Dan houser has probably made so much money from rockstar that I genuinely believe this is just him wanting to do something different other than gta and red dead.

I don't understand, why a new company starts directly with the biggest possibly and costly project? Why is the very first game directly a very expensive AAA open world title??
That sounds so unhealthy.
