Agreed. People are so quick to condemn, just to get it out there. Randy's a charismatic guy, but I also found him to be kind of an asshole at times up on stage too. But none of that affects my excitement for BL3.

The people defending him on here confuse me. People must really love Borderlands to just overlook some of this stuff. I get that false accusations are bad and all, but there's definitely reason to believe it's at least possible if you've read anything about him. And I don't see how he is likeable at all. He just seems like a slimy salesman on the surface, with a possible criminal underbelly. It legit bums me out that he runs Gearbox, because I'm pretty excited for the new game.

The legal case that the accusation was made in is still ongoing. I haven't really heard any other word about it other than a couple twitter reactions from Randy and former Gearbox staff. Last I read Frisco authorities aren't currently investigating but there hasn't really been any news since January.

Oh wow. I didn't know this. To b honest my original perception of Randy was that he was just kind of a dick that a lot of enthusiast gamers and people in the press didn't like. I really didn't know he was accused and associated with a lot of things being brought up in this thread.

There are many reasons to dislike the guy but it's unreasonable to believe it was child porn.

I share your sentiments about Randy, but not buying the game because of that? This is a weird stance to take when you sometimes probably can't even tell if the people you bought the game from are assholes.

None I guess. I dunno, I want to support the devs in general. I absolutely agree the company would be better off without this coked up wannabe magician, but yeah, you do you.
I don't think they would have gotten such a huge response and interest in the game if that was a problem. If allegations with no evidence turn into indictments I'm sure they'll do the right thing real quick, but people in this industry/market don't care if the men who make games they like are dicks. I feel that it would help a lot if he would step away from twitter. He seems to act first and think later, oh and of course he seems like a rather unpleasant dude overall. At the same time calling him a pedophile seems a bit premature.
I don't care what he does, but I'm distancing myself from Bored-of-lands 3 and anything else he is involved in.
Come on, bootleg merchandise is a thing which exist from decades now, and some family if their children want, let's say, a Fortnite merchanside, can only afford bootleg one because the official are way too expensive. Sometimes by reading some posts in this forum seems a lot of users are out of this world.

Kamiya is talented, he's actually made good games like RE2 and DMC.
And I made this thread thinking that Gearbox would have Randy step away, but honestly with his recent Steam = Evil and Epic = Good rants, I think he's doubling down on it.
I didn't know that being talented gives you a pass for acting like a dick on social media towards your fans.
