To kinda explain this a bit further, this may not be immediately obvious to someone who doesn't know Japanese, but the menus are translated in such a manner that are a combination of what might sound like gibberish to a Japanese player and confusing terminology that most Japanese players are not accustomed to. This can result in some confusion as to the purpose of the menus.
The other thing is it almost felt like it was a machine translation, as some translators and people who speak Japanese chimed in on this. It could also be someone who's legit inexperienced handling the menu translations, which has happened in the past (largely with indie games being localized for Japan). While this isn't indicative of the actual localization quality of the whole game, it absolutely is not a good first impression, since this'll be one of the first things you see loading up the game.
The actual dialogue and voiced stuff is fine (as it should be, though hopefully the final has proper lip-sync), but now I'm curious how the rest of the UI is handled.

Needless to say, I'm a bit baffled, given both the setting and the fact Japan is co-producing the game. Hopefully this is the worst of it and can be patched out. We'll know very soon.
