On the topic of the seemingly 3rd island:
It looks like a lava island with an ashen coastline. I guess if they play the ash as a sort of snow it could give ir a unique vibe. I hope it's just the 3rd island and we get something unique for the final one.
Forest, Desert, Lava were just missing snow and that covers all basic bases. A bit uncreative at first glance I guess.

Hmmm. I think ill bet on the final island being themed like the cyber structures we see in the open world, but taking it a step further. Light bridges and all.

That or angel island if they decide to make angel island a starfall island lore wise considering the game's plot is supposed to delve into the chaos emeralds' origins.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Hope there is a lot to the theme that sets it apart from the desert. Still trying to figure out the best way of importing the Limited Edition that incurs the least extra fees.
This isn't really confirmed though, right? Just inferred due to the fact that Ian seems to have been told an origin by Sega. I do feel like this is why but still. Angel Island being a Starfall Island could be interesting though it would have some pretty significant lore implications to the Knuckles Clan and their discovery of it. I dunno if they'd want to fudge those details but I guess they've glossed over worse lol.
Wonder if it's just a coincidence that those are the same biomes PSO2 NGS gets lol

Yeah not confirmed you're right but the chaos emeralds appear to be pretty central to the plot considering their disappearance that starts the whole adventure.
Could always hope for a separate hardcover artbook to be sold as its own thing later on...! Or just settle for the Digital Deluxe artbook.

Last concept art piece shows an interesting ruin cliffside area, and what looks like some swirling sand tunnel place (maybe a Cyber Space level? Unclear.).
However, the thing that's gotten most people's attention are these two shots:
This is really hard to make out, but it looks like some broken bridge sticking out of the ocean. No idea where this is supposed to be.
And of course, the Volcano island briefly spotted:
No way that's not called Hades.
