Then they really need to full support PSN in the country. No excuses. As for Sony selling PS products here, there's actual support since there is warranty and servicing.

IF something is broken then its obviously their problem. In this case there is nothing to "fix". Would it be nice for PSN to be in every country? Heck yes. From a consumer's perspective it would be ideal, but from a pragmatic view of the way that corporate finances work it's not gonna happen anytime soon. No need take one sentence out of context, though I could have been a bit clearer.
Having native support is better, you won't need to make workaround for things to work, and resolving issues is better. NIntendo should improve on this too, but unfortuunately they are a small company and thus have limited resourceswe also don't have nintendo e-shop, but it doesn't matter as much
It sucks that he wasn't eligible after they invited him just because he lives in Philippines, and that he is representing his country despite that the email state he is representing Asia.
I just can't believe how far people will go to defend Sony. It is almost 2019 and Sony still doesn't have global support for PSN. Every store on PC has global support and unified accounts and one of the biggest corporations in the world still doesn't. It's not like MS is any better to be honest but at least they are allowing purchases with PayPal from other regions but it still sucks.

Yup. I'm surprised to see this defense.
So since I'm filipino and I live in the Philippines, let me tell you the frustration that is the PlayStation in the Philippines.
First, PlayStation is big here. Nintendo is a distant 2nd. Xbox is laughable.
PlayStation has been launched here officially since the PS2. Yes, PS2. It was officially supported here but the games were NTSC/J so it failed because Japanese is something we don't understand. PS3 was officially launched here supporting online games. Yet they do not support Philippines as a country for registering in PSN. We even have PS+ and PSN being sold in Sony stores and even marketed in Sony Philippines' website. PS4 then was officially launched but still no Philippine support. The PS brand is officially supported here yet we don't have our country listed in Philippines. THAT IS SONY'S PROBLEM! Now the eligibility doesn't necessarily mean that Philippines is not supported. The reason is just because PSN is not out here. That is still Sony's problem.
It's not just Sony, but also Nintendo that still doesn't have global support for the eshop. You don't know how glad I was that my Nintendo account, with digital games, wasn't locked into the Philippine region with no eshop. It happened when I requested from Nintendo support to change my account region back to US from Canada due to buying a Canada eshop card and not using up all funds. They told me since I was from the Philippines, that they could not change it to US and could only change it to Philippines. Thank God they didn't transfer the account balance or I would have been screwed.
