Run and jump - whatever button you have jump set as (either L3 or press run/circle whilst running). How do you do a flying leap in dark souls 3 on PS4? I am trying to pick up the crow quills weapon. Every time I try to do a flying leap off of the ledge I instead do a roll and can't reach the ledge.
The Ludwig music is incredible.
How did you find the Lawrence fight?
I would, but I'm being swallowed by Monster Hunter right now I'm afraid...Not seen any buzz here for this year's Return to Drangleic. Nobody here taking part?
Just firing the game up now since I never got my platinum on PS4. Anyone have any recommendations for a good sl150 hex build?

Gehrman got wrecked by my Reiterpallasch build. The R1, R1, L1 combo is godlike.
I think I want to try and beast or cauliflower run next. I don't really want to have to grind up a 99 arcane character though so I might just give beast a go on a character I already have 50STR and 25SKL with.
Once you pick up the Executioner's Gloves, then there is no more "grinding" with an arcane character. The rest of the game literally becomes trivial for bosses who are susceptible to Executioner's Gloves or a little bit later A Call Beyond. You can march through the chalice dungeons even the FRC depth 5 with impunity and easily and you'll get to 99 arcane in no time.
The arcane character was my most fun bloodborne play through.
I followed this guide pretty closely (especially the path he takes in the videos including the shortcuts to get different items as soon as possible): https://www.reddit.com/r/bloodborne/comments/3xvg11/guide_the_arcanist_20_arcaneing_with_the_old/

DSIII is the best Souls game, come back to it after Wall of Lothric the difficulty becomes balanced (it starts a bit tough) and fun.DS3 is still a piece of complete shit. I don't know what possessed Miyazaki to turn his slow-paced thoughtful series into an aggressive aggrofest but it sucks so damn bad.
They made the game WAY too dependent on rolling and made every enemy attack three times as much and three times as fast
Enemies do a billion damage and even high-DEF armor is useless because ROLL DAMMIT
and WHERE IS MY GODDAMN POISE how am I supposed to kill shit if I keep getting stunlocked
This game might be one of the most disappointing purchases I've ever made.
A question how are you supposed to kill the dragons on the bridge? I tried passing them but it doesn't work
So you cant kill them right now? i already explored the Kings gardenIf you're talking about Lothric Castle, drop off the bridge and continue exploring. You'll find an opportunity to kill them later.

I couldn't stand DS1 and II but 3 is awesome, also the shields are very useful. They aren't just win tickets but you need a healthy balance of rolling and defense to win.
though i agree a few enemies are bullshit with their fast, powerful attacks, they are unbalanced compared to your super slow paper thin ashed soldier, but that comes with the territory.

Smouldering Lake seems to get worse during each playthrough. Such an ugly, poorly designed area with annoying enemies (fuck those fireball spamming pyromancers) and a mediocre boss.
Thank God it's optional.
And that is exactly why poise sucks and I'm glad it got nerfed into uselessness in DS3. :nods:Ridiculous damage + Poise = gg for the Four Kings, lol. Literally just stand in their face and mash R1 and they just die so easily. Shit wasn't even a challenge.
I disagree that making armor useless and STR weapons absolute garbage was a good way to "fix" PoiseAnd that is exactly why poise sucks and I'm glad it got nerfed into uselessness in DS3. :nods:
They aren't garbage, they just have hyper armour (poise) during the start of your swing. It certainly makes them harder to use but they're still extremely powerful.I disagree that making armor useless and STR weapons absolute garbage was a good way to "fix" Poise
What incentive is there to wear heavy armor if it just makes you run slow and makes your roll trash
Somehow I managed to get to Castle Cainhurst at lvl 17. Having to fight every vampire one on one takes ages but isn't too bad. Summoning help is almost impossible. I got 2 players in an hour and both of them died pretty quickly. I can't cheese the boss with shooting because my BT is around 6, and I'm not doing much damage to him with my cane even though it's +6. I have a shitload of souls but I can't get them because they're in his area. Vexed.
Sprint to your echoes, grab them then hide behind something on the roof and use a bold hunters mark to get out. You could even grab your echoes then allow yourself to die right at the boss entrance so you can pick them up and get off an easy bold hunters mark next time.
If I am gonna create a new character then in DS3 then what is the best SL and weapon level to stop at if I want to do general PvE helping through most of the game?
Also when it shows me locations where host of embers are present are those only people that I can match with based on my SL and weapon level or is it any host of embers?
SL120 is the considered "meta" level so that's a good time to stop.
The embers multiplayer icons are related to the SL of your character.
But for PvE summoning help in the main game then SL120 is way too high right? 120 is like NG+ right?
The most action is at the end of the game and DLC. A lot of people playing through PvE are actually vets doing new builds and stuff and they don't summon much for the first half (exception being early Dancer because of the skip).
Still, if you only care for PvE maybe it would be a good idea to stop at 100. You can both connect to the 120 meta to as low as 80 with people progressing to late game.
I doubt a, say, SL50 would have much action nowadays, it certainly didn't half a year ago...
Agreed.I wish DS3 had a summon me "somewhere to help someone" option like B.B. chalice dungeons or like Nioh. I wish it also had the ability to be summoned into lower level content with downscaling instead of level restrictions. It would be so much easier to help people out which adds replay ability. I can boot up Nioh and get instant co-op over and over even with a dwindling player population.
Sorc build (I always prefer warrior sorc) is one of the best in DS2. Look up a stat guide to get your moveset feeling right and then enjoy the ride. Some of the best gameplay in the series is in that game.So I'm playing Dark Souls 2 right now in lieu of replaying Demon's Souls after a week. Rolled Sorcerer (my fave class) and it's generally smoother than my last attempt.
But does the game's combat ever start feeling good?
Disregarding terrible bullshit like the slow Estus Flask or the degenerating health, the combat just feels slow and clunky, and my dodge rolls are practically useless. The only thing I like is that the art design is really pretty and creative.
Basically I'm wondering if I should pack it in and play one of the three Soulsborne games I actually like.

Pursuer is a completely optional boss. Other stats need to get bumped to minimal levels until most people feel comfortable with the movesets.I had to pump my first 12 levels into STR and DEX to manage basic enemies and the Pursuer is currently kicking my ass because the very scenic and beautiful arena is really thin.

That's just the engine - it's clunky and muddy. The game still has a lot of great things going for it, the DLC is a marked improvement in terms of level design - but the combat isn't going to get any better, that's the engine itself. So I'm playing Dark Souls 2 right now in lieu of replaying Demon's Souls after a week. Aaaand DeS servers are shut down :( Jumped on to witness the end and got summoned to a world where another phantom, host, invader, and I were all waving goodbye to each other.
That's cute. I might've got a bit teary eyed!Aaaand DeS servers are shut down :( Jumped on to witness the end and got summoned to a world where another phantom, host, invader, and I were all waving goodbye to each other.
