Oh wow! I really need to play through RE2 again now to see all of the changes. Played through 4 times at release.
Wasn't there a 4chan leak that predicted Jill's letter achievement, that also stated spiders would be added back into RE2 in an update, in an optional sewer area?
That was unsourced, and probably just some random person making stuff up.
Not sure about the area, but it mentioned a new boss that was a giant spider.
Except they mentioned the Jill letter before it was known anywhere else.
Legit things DO occasionally leak on 4chan, given its anonymous nature it's easy to drop shit there with minimal risk.
The 800MB patch on steam seemed to do more than just Add Jill's Letter and Remove Denuvo. I'll try and look at the files soon.
I remember when XV's story got leaked on 4chan but no one believed it because it all sounded too silly.

Oh no, it's someone in my family who likes RE but HATES spiders.
Oh my god please add the spiders in Resident Evil 2 as well, the game deserves it! Also the giant moth please!!

Nothing, the performance is the same, but given how people hate Denuvo for god knows the reason here, it's worth pointing it out.
IIRC they were only in 2 rooms in the sewers and only like 4 of them? So they probably didn't see the need. Arachnophobes were probably happy though, I'm sure they would've looked incredible with RE2's graphics.
It's not really a problem since they were replaced by the G-virus spawns which serve the same purpose of making you rush through the sewer and deal poison damage. I actually think they're better than the spiders because they're more interesting to deal with.
Gosh, I hope that leak is actually true. I lost hope when nothing was announced at the Game Awards. Honestly, it's just an excuse for me to go through the game again because of how fun it is.

I vastly prefer it to Leon's, she's just a more innately likable character too imo.
yea I agree, I hope there is another update that puts a bunch of changes in place. I don't want to start a new playthrough unless I know this stuff is in
