How similar is this expansion to the original single player mode?
I don't why the original SP never grabbed me. It has some great level design and inventive bosses plus all the Splatoon charm.
I bought the expansion and I'm looking forward to play it but want to beat the original SP first (left it at the last world)
Please tell me i dont have to do every single stage with the roller to finish the SP modeIt has a shit ton of content. To fully complete the SP you need to finish each level with every weapon... That alone takes a considerable amount of time. Octo expansion is more of a challenge room thing, where each test focuses on a single theme and just goes nuts with it.
Also Salmon run has become my go to local MP game with friends.

You don't, unless you're a completionist. The only thing you get from finishing every level with every weapon is you unlock each weapon for MP, but they're just reskins. Please tell me i dont have to do every single stage with the roller to finish the SP mode
I like the chat logs for having the characters chatting in a pretty believable way, so I took it as a typo on Pearl's behalf.Pearl says Marina is "way to smart for her own good". Typo or just trying to make Pearl look dumb?
It's a lot different, and I find it a lot more fun. They're more creative than the vanilla levels and have you doing things unique to these levels. It's objective-oriented whereas the base campaign are courses that are only about getting to the end (and the occasional octoling skirmish and boss fight). How similar is this expansion to the original single player mode?

Some of these are straight up impossible. The one where you have to blow up all the boxes in one hit is just random. I'm on one now with the roll up things but the one near the goal can't be hit on the surface or the air. So many times you just have to make a suicide jump just to see what works.
Oh my god that one was horrible
I solved it and I have literally no idea how I did it
isn't it simple to just let the balloon explode exactly right in the center?
so I just hit it slightly early and succeed.
Quite different. Instead of a pretty linear progression, you're given a subway with stage progression similar to Super Mario Bros. 3. You are given the option to skip stages should you be unable to complete them, but doing so won't net you a whole Mem Cake. How similar is this expansion to the original single player mode?

You don't need to grind to try again. Just get a Game Over, and Marina will start you out back with 3000 CQ.I know I'm in the extreme minority here but I'm really disappointed. This is unforgivingly hard in many areas and the fact that I now need to grind to try again if it's entry price is too high....that's bullshit. I'm so mad right now.
Complete all the challenges and you'll find it.Wait is there a secret boss after the statue? I'm seeing people talking about it; what do you have to do to unlock it?
Thanks!

If the original Single Player never grabbed you, then prepare your butt, cause some of the challenges here require your full attention.

Personally I think the music in the expansion is too awesome we don't deserve it.

This is the main reason I haven't bought it yet I all for failing challenges multiple times but thats sound horrible.I know I'm in the extreme minority here but I'm really disappointed. Me too. The only challenge that really ate up a few creds for me was Girl Power Station but that barely made a dent. Game has a good level of challenge.I don't think I ever came close to running out of credits. I ended up with like 40000 by the end.
