My biggest gripes, keep in mind this is all GA-focused/driven. Also while there's no stats available (lol DICE) I at a minimum have got to have at least 200 hours in GA along with something like 450 hours in BF2015 so I honestly feel like I can back these up, although lots of things are subjective of course.
- Team balancing needs to be ASAP. It was a bit heavy-handed in BF2015 and didn't always work great, but I think it's solidly better than what we have now. It's even worse in BF2 because you can squad up with more than one other person which was the limitation in BF2015. 80%+ of the time in GA it's one team just completely steamrolling the other until enough people quit or join up to mix things up, and that usually takes a while. It's never gonna be "fair" and there's always gonna be shitshows since it's an online game, but that shouldn't be the rule. I once had a run in a GA lobby where it was me and the same 4-5 other guys who all stayed in the lobby and didn't lose a single game for literally 6 hours, and I'm talking we were winning on the first phase on defense and winning every phase on offense with 80+ tickets. And this happens all the time, and I've played a looooot of GA, but this to some degree is going to be YMMV as evidence by the mix of posts here. I will say this is MUCH more of an issue in GA, outside of maybe very occasionally in SA I've never had it happen anywhere else (HvV is unbalanced in general so hard to tell there).
- Hero health gain and max regen limits need to be brought down. This is the proverbial dead horse I've been beating into the ground since the Beta and I've posted on it multiple times since then. Being able to regenerate up to maximum health is the biggest reason why multiple heroes are so good (then the emperor was even more broken the number of times I'd single-handedly get him down to like 20% health and then he'd be back at full 60-90 seconds later for example); I think that capping max health gain/regen at say something like 50-60% maximum but would a good balance. I don't think it should be removed completely at all; this leads to BF2015 situations where heroes with sub-10 health would just run away forever, but they've gone too far IMO in the other direction, and good players with many heroes can easily run around with full health, or be down to 20% and then get back up to full health by the time you run into them again. I also don't know that I agree with changing/raising BP costs for Heroes because I understand the need to try to give even not the top of the board players to be a hero at least sometimes, but I do think you shouldn't be able to spawn as a Hero or a vehicle on GA maps twice in a row. Too often top players (which includes me in this example if I'm being honest) will save BP for 2nd/3rd phase and wind up at that point having enough BP to call in 3-4 heroes in a row which is kind of dumb. Even more dumb is on certain maps you can easily break it altogether by getting enough points to get in a AT-ST, landspeeder or AAT and then earn multiple times over what you need to call in another one immediately when you die. Even if they only lock you out for one respawn I think that would be enough time to potentially give another player the option to hop in, even if you just spawn and suicide/restart.
- HOW DO WE NOT HAVE STATS IN-GAME STILL????
- More guns! I agree the game needs more content in general (although it's not at the severe lack of content level BF2015 had), but the problem here is that all of the guns and abilities are tied to certain classes which is much more limited here unless everything you happen to want is on the same class. My 2 to-go setups in BF2015 are split across 3 different classes here, more options would help alleviate this.
I still really like the game and have to have easily over 300 hours in (probably way way more to be honest) so not trying to be over critical here or anything; any new players getting the game now are in for a hell of a time and I recommend it to people all the time. But some of the pretty glaring issues here shouldn't still be here 6 months after launch, especially with many of these problems not existing in BF2015 at all. EA continues to talk a big game about supporting the game for multiple seasons etc etc, I think rubber is gonna hit the road with what they announce at E3 and/or how Season 3 goes. Solo season had to have been a lock pre-launch, and it's hard to gauge how much changing progression actually set them back in internally (I'm sure they did but don't know that I believe as much as they say it did) so I feel like Season 3 is going to be where they're going to have the flexibility to actually directly respond to feedback post-launch as well as put up or shut up in terms of content releasing.
