Rust or The Long Dark? Looking for a survival game to spend some time on. Any other suggestion?
Subnautica is fantastic.

Still a bit too expensive for just trying out :p
The Trails in the Sky games were pretty easy when I played them on a PSP (and enjoyable too)

Yeah, I think I'll go with The Long Dark, seems more up my alley. They're completely different games. Rust is multiplayer-only and is basically a PvP sandbox. The Long Dark is entirely single-player and offers a story mode and a sandbox mode.
I'm in dilemma. I'm on a limited budget of 40$ CAD and I want to buy multiple games. I can't choose between The Witcher III or Dark Souls III. I recently finished Dark Souls Remastered and I enjoyed the heck out of it. But then, I heard so much praise about The Witcher III and everybody is telling me that I have to play it but I have a issue with it: I hate multiple choices in games. I hate it when I choose something wrong. If I buy The Witcher III, I'll also have less budget for other games as it is 27$ for a GOTY edition. Dark Souls is 16$ and it leaves me more breathing room for other games. Help me ERA, please!
Nice price reduction on Wolfenstein II, with it being 36€ off. Tempting.
On that subject, what are the best deals in this sale in terms of actual price reduction, and not in percentage off? Anything better then 36€?
I feel that I'm a bit lost navigating the store right now.
Alright, thanks for the answer.
I've still got the UK version of steam store but I'm in Germany... so I'm guessing if I try to buy it I won't be able to access it until I'm back in the UK in August ;_;Nice price reduction on Wolfenstein II, with it being 36€ off. Tempting.

Yeah that's what it is ultimately, text over images, occasionally VO and depending on the game branching choices. So more that any other genre they live and die on the strength of their writing and players interest in the subject matter. I think the writing in Fata Morgana is outstanding, at different times it gave me the same emotional reaction I had to reading through parts of Dhalgren. Can someone sell me on The House in Fata Morgana? I enjoy text adventures like traditional parser games, as well as modern interactive fiction like Sorcery and 80 Days. but played the demo and Fata Morgana doesn't seem like those. You just click through text? I've never played a visual novel before, so I don't even have any frame of reference of what a VN is like to play.
Ideally, I'd be most curious in impressions from people where the game was their introduction to VNs
My Steam Link is shitting out right as the sale starts, so I guess I'm getting another one of those.
Any suggestions for fun online multiplayer games to play with buds? Preferably something super cheap so I can get a 4-pack.
Hmm would you care to trade a copy for something ;)Haha you know, I actually have 3 gifts of this game left in my inventory. Never tried it but I love tower defense so I'll install.
Whatcha got??
Well I could trade you a game worth 2-3 bucks if that's OK.
Sounds good to me.
It should be alright at this point if you have decent specs. How is Ys VIII on PC these days? I know it got a lot of shit on release for technical stuff.
I was actually waiting for a physical version of hollow knight but gave in an bought it (10 bucks was too tempting). I'm about 10 hours in and it's great. The only thing that bothers me a tiny bit is the amount of backtracking. I know it's a Metroidvania but I'm missing an item like the homeward bone from Dark Souls or something that lets me teleport to benches or the travel bug.
It's unplayable, but you can play it like this.
I think the Witness was that price before, but D:OS has always been consistently priced at 16€ and now 12€Do Divinity:Original Sin or The Witness ever drop below $12.00? I thought since they are older games I could get them for like $5.00 ?
Nioh and Assassin's Creed: Origins are both $29.99 during the current Steam sale...if you had a choice of 1 game which would you choose at that price?
i know its blasphemy to say but maybe.....play it?Okay so I finally caved and bought a game during this year's sale.
Now what?
It's an incredibly unique CRPG. The back half of the story feels rushed and the combat system isn't nearly as good as it is in Pillars (IMO), but it's certainly a game worth playing. I've heard that the DLC is good as well, but I haven't played it myself so I can't say for sure.
If you don't already have Starbound, I'd suggest picking that up. Sounds right up your alley. Can anyone recommend a game like 7 days to die or Terraria. I'm looking mainly for pve but most survival games I see look like their just pvp
Chris Avellone wrote the concept that became Fane, the Undead origin. He didn't touch the rest of DOS2, so those props all go to Larian's writing team.Yeah, D:OS2 is pretty dramatically better than the previous. The writing is leagues ahead (thank you, Chris Avellone) and everything else is just bigger, better, and more bad-ass.
