Ibuki, Makoto and Sakura all kinda hit in the same area and need to be spread out.
Bottom right seems appropriate considering she'll be younger in SFV like Urien, Alex and Ibuki. It would make for a good default that sets her apart from Ibuki while still reminding us she is in school (same one as Ibuki?).With the discussions I've seen around FM I'd say good will perception isn't how I'd describe the system, but there are differences to consider given how games have changed and in how they're supported. If you went the spending route they've offered up costumes with season passes (along with the nostalgia and 30th anniversary packs for pre-orders), and have had bundles with discounts, so I don't think they're being stringent with them.
I mean it could be looked at in a vacuum, and yes, SF4 had cheaper costume packs. But at least for me, most SF4 stuff looked terrible, alt costumes included. I'm not saying that these should be more expensive because the assets are higher quality and require more effort and that as a consumer one should keep in mind, but in terms of what sways me at least, I've found myself buying individual ones in 5 more than I did packs in 4 just because they've just been all around better realized and they're all in an impulse purchase range.
But what it really comes down to is that just given the contemporary space in the genre, you don't even really see alt costumes offered, let alone ones to be competitive in pricing, so I just look at it as it is. $4 for a costume ain't gonna kill me for a thing if I like it.
Though I'm part of the problem, I buy Chun-Li costumes and don't even play her. :V
I've always been fond of the top right concept they had for her from SF4. Though I wouldn't want it presented in a fan service-y way.
All of them didn't need to be acquired last time either. That didn't change. If you did pick and choose for your main at the lowest price of $4 you got one plus 4 or 5 bonus costumes as well. It's not just a slight change, it's a massive value proposition change. Plus, if you did want them all or even just a moderate amount they had bulk bundles.
A lot of people like to have just a moderate selection of variety for casual play, not even close to all of them and the pricing for those types of players is far too big of a change this game. There's a huge gap between having to settle for a skin or two for your main and getting them all.

I couldn't help thinking of FANG reading that game plan.Give all of his moves high amounts of grey life damage, but then give him a V-Skill that's very easy to land, does little actual damage but can act as a 'converter' to turn the chip into real damage. So then his flow becomes pressure/grey life damage >> V Skill. Or maybe he only has that high grey life pressure when he's in V-Trigger, something like that.
Indeed it would be beyond ridiculous to have Sagat in the game, and him not being the final boss of the SF1 Arcade path...Capcom doesn't have the best track record here. For starters, season 1 DLC characters still aren't part of survival mode. On the other hand, it would be ridiculous not to be able to play as the new DLC characters in Arcade mode.

That could work. Maybe they could give him a V-Skill that has something to do with his salt throwing. When active he does twice(or x3) the grey health he normally does. That would help put this opponents in a panic state over potential damage if utilized properly, leading to mistakes and punishes. The grey health would have to be a notable amount, otherwise you will end up with another FANG situation where no one even cares unless they are at 5% health already.I think this'd be a cool way of doing Honda in SF5.
