Bowser's Inside Story is a great game, you actually get to play AS Bowser and see things from his perspective.

And also, yeah...this can only be achieved through modding your Switch

I don't know a lot about this mod scene, but I do notice a lot of mods are presented like "Wartortle over Squirtle." Is that the standard? I love some of these modded characters and would totally put them in my copy, but I don't like the idea of having to sacrifice an older character to get it.

Initially I managed to get mods to load but I couldn't get the local wireless option to open, and after some messing around, the entire emulator just crashes now if ARCropolis is installed. The tutorial for setting up mods on Gamebanana implies that LDN will work, but I'm having no luck.

Yeah they should be compatible with it. ARCropolis just became compatible with Ryujinx last year...which is needed to mod Smash Ultimate

Damn, my Switch doesnt have CFW - maybe in the future when emulation is more stable (and I have a better gaming PC) - I'll emulate SSBU.

Which version of the Swich do you have? If you have a launch one, then you should have no issues with modding it (mine is a launch Switch)

Also, emulating the Switch shouldn't be too tough...I still have a lowly 1070. From what I hear the Steam Deck can even emulate the Switch pretty well, if not, perfectly for quite a few games. Some others might require some tinkering but a friend of mine says Metroid Prime Remastered runs on the Steam Deck with no issues whatsoever

I'm not in a rush with emulating Switch games since I have my Switch and am actively playing it.

My WiiU on the other hand died but thankfully my PC can run CEMU easily lol.

Dont have a Steam Deck, no rush in getting it - my Switch backlog is huge as it is lol - so prioritizing it as my main portable device when I travel.

No, I dont have a Steam deck - no plans to buy one yet, maybe in the future when there's revisions.

Well, the Midbus one for example is added as an echo fighter for Bowser rather than a replacement, so it's possible. From the pictures, it looks like Wartortle replaces Squirtle when using the female Pokemon Trainer.

With how advanced modding for Smash Ultimate has gotten now, there's usually the choice to fully replace the character or to install the mod as a "one slot" type of thing.

For example, majority of these mods I share with you all I have on my game, and the ONLY character I have fully replaced is Bowsette over Daisy. Most of my other mods still retain the original character and have the alt as another choice on a color slot that I may not particularly care for.

I managed to get it to work initially, but the LDN build (the one that allows for online play) specifically seems to be causing issues for me now. I was just curious whether this was a known issue or not.

Knuckles' Project + moveset is making some excellent progress, its currently at 70%. The modder, AGhostsPumpkinSoup, states that Knux will get the FULL treatment..such as:
- Spirits
- unique stage
- Classic mode route
- Mii costume

And for those into amiibos, he will have his OWN amiibo file! If you have a Gamebanana account, you can subscribe to the WIP so that you'll stay up to date with any new news the mod has.

If you have a launch version Switch, its actually not hard at all to mod. You don't even really need any "tools" or additional hardware (except maybe a paperclip, but its been awhile since the RCM jig days so they may have streamlined that aspect of the process too)

An easier alternative to that perhaps is just downloading the emulator Yuzu for the Steam Deck, if you own one.

This is huge! I was waiting for them to figure out how to add slots.
Can't wait for moveset mods to start showing up. So far, I've seen Alucard and Shadow the Hedgehog (based on his Legacy XP / PM-EX design).

Yeah man its definitely exciting. I'm personally hoping they start trickling more into custom animations/moves cause the removal of custom moves from Smash Wii U was a huge loss for characters like Mega Man, since that's his whole gimmick of being a walking swiss army knife
