Takahiro Sakurai is also a prolific voice actor in anime and games and especially as Cloud in all the recent Final Fantasy VII projects.
I wonder if Square Enix and other companies that worked with him will continue to cast him for future projects.

That's strange, I've never seen an admission for somebody being psychiatrically "shocked" before, usually there's an underlying condition that the trauma triggers afaik.

Well in any case all the best to her, 10 years is a long time and I can't imagine what's going through her mind.

There's actually quite a few celebrities' in Japan who are married secretly, usually to non-celebs. Its rarely a scandal unless its like this case where they were cheating. More of a "wait your married!?" situation once people find out.

The "adultery" part strikes me as something that isn't nice, but is a private matter that isn't really in the public interest for us to know about.

Hiding that you're married from someone for ten years is a remarkably dick move though. I still don't really think it's something we needed to know, but hell, that's bad.

I'm guessing it's one of those situations where the voice actors keep their marriage a secret to not upset their fans. The popular ones are practically idols over there after all.

I have heard stories of people having 2 simultaneous marriages with children and keeping the facade. Is still wild when it happens but I dont know the logistics to pull that out for a long time out without no one finding out or someone close to you or your partners not ratting you out.

Still is wild that in Japan there are more chances of people getting cancelled for cheating on their partners than owning a huge collection of child pornography

Mob Psycho 100 III has been completed for months and the episodes are just airing now so I would be shocked if they pulled the rest of an already completed project just to change one VA. Other stuff though, no idea

I mean, Tatsuhisa Suzuki last year was the same (He was cheating on his wife, Lisa). It was pretty big. All his roles at the time were canceled, I think. But he did resume full activities this year.

Me being cynical? Nothing, he's a dude. He'll apologize to his fans, and take a break, be back in summer at the latest. Male talent here get caught cheating several times a year and won't get dropped from nightly appearances, at worst get material to talk and joke about for their segments as disgusting as that is.

Since its a private matter, they won't pull his work like they do for drug offenses which are seen as more heinous. At worst they recast in stuff if the public backlash leaves too big a bad taste in peoples mouths usually.

People act baffled but if you're a cheater you're a liar, and I see why that affects work-related activities too. I mean if you can lie to someone you supposedly love, then thinking it causes problems elsewhere wouldn't be surprising. I guess I'm just saying I cans ee why its a big deal.

That must be terrible for the women in his life, 10 years is a long time to lie to someone. I love his voice and this will probably change how I engage with it. Not sure how much and how long this will damage his career. That said, unless there is anything more sinister to it, I agree that this is mostly a private matter. Again, the way I feel about his performances will probably change but I wouldn't call for him to be recast in anything either. Just disappointed.
