The time is not for drama and sadness people.

The time is for ANGER. Anger and calling.

Do not let them hear the end of it.

EFF and Fight for the Future aren't giving up, and neither should you.

This isnt really about money. This is about information control. This is a form of censorship. This is way more dangerous than rising idiot tube prices.

To you it's not about money. Your values don't necessarily line up with most others'. A lot of the pro-NN discussion revolves around how hard it will hit the customer's wallet.

Maybe Google will finally get off their asses and starting building out their fiber network? I assume Google is on board with keeping the net neutral. That, or we just build our own ISPs and Internet apart and away from these traditional ISPs and conglomerates that care more about dividends than individuals.
Twitch and Youtube are fine.

The people who make the next Twitch and Youtube on the other hand? They're the ones that may have trouble.
Twitch and Youtube might not be fine for individuals of ISPs decide to charge people more for access to streaming video content or even just throttle or limit broadband access to those sites and cater more to their own streaming solutions.

Wonder how many of the people he name dropped there are actually in favor of repealing net neutrality? Felt like they were being used.

Much of the net neutrality argument revolves around money because its a more concise argument that is easier to understand for laymen. Explaining information control takes nuance and time. But the core issue is indeed information control and information control eventually manifests in monetary ways, because money and information go hand in hand.

They did. The entire reason net neutrality was codified is because there was no law against it. The telecoms were saying if we didn't like it, make it illegal. So we did. So they bought the fcc to roll back the law.
Got it.

So ISP cos got caught screwing over customers, got stopped and now want to resume said screwing only this time pretending that it's for their own good.

Fucking hell.

The competition argument would work if your telecommunications industry wasn't a set of localised monopolies.

At least here in the UK if some joker of an ISP wanted to try this I have multiple providers of high speed fibre to the cab based services to choose from. Over there millions don't have that choice and thus be forced to take whatever ISP tell them. That's why they need to be regulated.

In the UK OFCOM has different levels of regulation based on how much competition in the area. Less competition leads to stricter rules to protect customers.

If they want to do the freedom but, put Title II for any customer who cannot choose their high speed internet.
