Bad -> Fat is not what I would think is acceptable for this question just because it's an obvious riff although maybe someone could make a solid argument and there's no wrong answer.

For me it's Like a Virgin -> Like a Surgeon. Lyrically it's one of the most clever parodies and it's still hilarious to me the shift in tone from Madonna'a.

Gump

it was such an interesting pull for a parody, paired with one of the most milquetoast films of the time

I'm partial to Trapped in the Drive Thru, because the original material is fucking insane and as usual, Al runs with it

Dare To Be Stupid. My favorite Weird Al song by far because is not a parody of a "song", it's an original song that makes parody of the style of Devo, and it's so fucking perfect even the band themselves envy the final result. He made one of the best Devo songs without being Devo.

After that Amish Paradise, yeah.

Amish Paradise or White And Nerdy.

Honorable mention to All About The Pentiums.

I have a soft spot for I Think I'm a Clone Now, myself.

Also, not parodies, but I love Calling in Sick and My Baby's in Love with Eddie Vedder lol

White and Nerdy is both a genuinely hysterical song in its own right and a perfect funhouse mirror reflection of the original. Arguably the peak of parody music.

"Weird Al" Yankovic - Word Crimes (Official 4K Video)

"Weird Al" Yankovic's new album "Mandatory Fun" out now on iTunes: http://smarturl.it/MandatoryFunAmazon: http://smarturl.it/MandatoryFunAMZGoogle Play: http...
The source material is catchy, but awful, so now there's a song you can listen to instead that's just as catchy, and also funny and educational.

How is this even a question?

Although there are times you should say "to who," but I'll allow it. It is just a song, after all: it can't teach you everything about grammar.

And the use of the word "spastic" has aged poorly. Man, I have not listened to this song in a while...

I Think I'm a Clone Now is probably my favorite. I Lost on Jeopardy and Addicted to Spuds are also underrated.

Although I'm realizing more and more that my favorites of his are the songs that aren't parodies, just silly songs. Christmas at Ground Zero is part of my regular Christmas playlist. Your Horoscope For Today is hilarious. One More Minute is absolute genius and got me through a really toxic breakup.

Yankovic. Man's a genius.

Headline News was one of his best parodies but is such a product of it's time it may not hold up for anyone under 35. I basically can't hear the original song without thinking about it though.

That's one of the best parts about Weird Al. If there's a song with a super good beat but by a horrible person or bad lyrics, Weird aa as you covered and it's usually hilarious.

Amish Paradise is pretty unbeatable.

Honorable mentions to Bedrock Anthem, Jurassic Park, Livin' in the Fridge, I Want a New Duck, and Headline News.

The rare times when he dips a toe into political commentary are probably his sharpest work. Canadian Idiot is a straightforwardly more clever riff on its source material, and Party in the CIA was entirely about making something as dark and biting as possible out of a song that had nothing whatsoever to say.

Amish Paradise was my first introduction to Weird Al and it's pretty hard to beat, but I still quote It's All About the Pentiums from time to time.

I usually prefer his style covers to his parodies though. There's way more room for him to be funny and showcase his musical chops in that space.

I think my favorite of his might be CNR which isn't an outright parody so much as a song styled like The White Stripes that talks about Charles Nelson Reilly as though it were an endless string of Chuck Norris jokes.

This is one of those where I always hear the parody instead of the original now.
This is like 90% of his parodies, though. Very few of the songs he has parodied are as good as his parody. No this is not commentary on pop music.
It's hard to pick one. But as nobody else has said it yet, I'm going to nominate Whatever You Like for being the only one to share its title with the original.
THIS threw me off when I first saw the track listing, too. I had ot double take it because it felt so weird to see.

And yes, this is him doing what he does best. It might be my favorite parody of his (copy editing is one of my many actual trades), though Tacky is in the same vein and VERY close if not equal. And they're both on the same album. Mandatory Fun is just masterclass from him, though.

re "spastic": TBF he's got a few other "of the times" things like that, but it's not like he hasn't evolved his lyrics with society. Almost the entirety of Fat can invoke more than a little side-eye these days.
Headline News was one of his best parodies but is such a product of it's time it may not hold up for anyone under 35. I basically can't hear the original song without thinking about it though.
The way he sings the Bobbit part gets me every single time with how he says "weiner".

"A Complicated Song" is pretty great and there are so many to choose from.

"Who would have guessed
Her family crest
I'd suddely spy
Tattooed on her thigh
And son-of-a-gun
It's just like the one on me
Tell me
How was I supposed to know we were both related?"

Hilariously brilliant.
