I dunno, May 2019 is a long ways off.I doubt the deal will be official and finished by then, this stuff takes a long time after its announced.

In time to film something I mean. As Disney has to avoid influencing anything over at Fox and vice versa till everything is signed, approved, and done.
They have quite a bit in development:
Gambit is supposed to start filming next year. Unless Verbinski and Fox start working with Marvel, I don't see this happening.
Deadpool 3 is almost assuredly happening if Deadpool 2 is successful and is supposed to set up X-Force.
New Mutants was pitched as a trilogy to Fox. As I said in the other thread, if I were Josh Boone, I'd be going back to the cutting board and removing everything that links New Mutants to the Fox X-Men universe.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is rumoured to be the first entry in a two parter. It's too late to cancel the film proper but mainline X-Men is getting rebooted hard. Way too much baggage at this point.
Noah Hawley's Doctor Doom, James Mangold's X-23 and James Franco's Multiple Man are all further off.
Maybe they could throw a small trailer together that hints at F4 but doesnt explicitly use any trademarked stuff?I doubt the deal will be official and finished by then, this stuff takes a long time after its announced.
They cant risk utilizing Fox assets till this is done and approved by the Govt. Things will be as they were before the deal till everything is 100% done.Maybe they could throw a small trailer together that hints at F4 but doesnt explicitly use any trademarked stuff?
Of course if everything fell apart it would cause a problem but by that point they should know if the deal was going ahead or not.
Thats why i said do something that would be obvious to fans but not actually using any likeness or anything that could legally go against them. They cant risk utilizing Fox assets till this is done and approved by the Govt. Things will be as they were before the deal till everything is 100% done.
Exactly. People thinking they're just going to shelve a property that made a buttload of money is ridiculous.Disney likes money more than anything else.
As long as Deadpool and R-Rated X-Men make money, they'll keep making them.
They should stop making the Avengers movies the culmulatiom of their phases and rather have a Marvel: The Coming of Galactus movie.
I kinda feel so-so about R-rated Marvel films. There's something weird about taking characters for kids and turning them into adult fare. And I felt that both Logan and Deadpool didn't really benefit from it all that much. Especially the former could have been a very valuable film for teenage audiences.
If the rating is enough of a differentiating factor to make more Marvel movies in total, I'll take it, but eh. I guess the rating system in the US being a mess doesn't help matters either.
Deadpool benefited because being R-rated was literally the entire gimmick and appeal. They even got away with it being super low budget as a result. I like the idea of Deadpool continuing to have his own R-rated solo films but then having to come to grips with the PG-13 ratings as he crosses over into the other MCU films. Would be true to the character lol
Deadpool benefitted greatly from going off the beaten path in terms of structure and characterization but there wasn't anything that you couldn't have gotten around with a PG-13 rating. The R-rated elements are the least interesting to me but I guess people got to see Morena Baccarin's boobs and Ryan Reynold's ass.
As if Realword Racism would make more sense then the Mutant/Homo Sapiens racism.
So Spider-Man in the MCU was announced in February 2015, and we got his first appearance in Civil War in May 2016. So 15 months there.
So theoretically, at that pace, squeezing something into Captain Marvel or Avengers 4 is possible.

So lets play a game.
Avengers 1 - Loki (aka Thanos' underling)
Avengers 2 - Ultron
Avengers 3/4 - Thanos (Infinity Gauntlet story/Infinity War story kinda?)
Avengers 5 - ???
Avengers 6 - ???
Avengers 7 - ???
Obviously we don't know what the format is going to be after Phase 3 wraps up, but for now lets assume they do a similar thing: 3 phase arc with everything culminating with the final Avengers movie in Phase 6.
What do you guys see happening here now that F4 and X-Men have come home officially?
First thing's first, I want to see in phase 4:
Fantastic 4 (I'd like for these guys to be the stars of Phase 4. Incorporate them into the MCU with a new, appropriate origin story. Introduce and establish Doom. Kinda like the first Thor with Loki, should act as a stand alone film but also develop the hell out of Doom, because he'll obviously be a recurring character)
Avengers 5 - The Coming of Galactus (Another story I feel like they need to get out of the way sooner than later. We've already explored Cosmic Marvel with all the GOTG and Thanos stuff, so lets get Galactus and Silver Surfer into the picture and get this shit moving)
From there, I really feel like the possibilities are endless. Even though they already kinda sorta adapted elements of it in Thor Ragnarok, I still think we absolutely need to see a real Planet Hulk movie, culminating in Avengers - World War Hulk. The "Hulk is too dangerous" subplot has been there since Avengers 1 in the MCU, and World War Hulk is the logical conclusion to that story. Now we have the full comic Illuminati and everything. Git er done.
And then after that I really have no idea lol

At the very least, Doom and Magneto have to be recurring, and developed beyond just being villains to fight. Loki and Zemo are still around. Killmonger, if he isn't killed. Maybe the actual Mandarin? Who else?
Trying to remember, was that the actual comic reason for Rogue's other powers (Flight, strength)? I vaguely remember the cartoon C.M. being in a coma or something, but I can't remember if it was permanent or not.
You assholes better not be celebrating this UNPRECEDENTED ANTI-LIFE MONOPOLY in this thread
I'M WATCHING YOU SICK APATHETIC NERDS
Hey you. Yes you, MCU fan reading Resetera.
THIS THING THAT HAPPENED IS AWFUL, WE'RE ON THE BRINK OF A DYSTOPIA AND IT'S YOUR FUCKING FAULT FOR ENJOYING THESE COMIC BOOK CHILDREN'S MOVIES
None of them will want to leave now lol.Happens right when it seems time for a good number of actors to make their exit....
I hate the very idea of a "team of villains."I really don't want another cosmic threat for the next big Avengers event. I'd much rather either have a focus on Doom as a major earth-based villain, or have a team/group of villains. We've never seen that in a superhero movie before, a team of heroes needing to outmaneuver and defeat a team of their villains.
Red Skull needs to be brought back.At the very least, Doom and Magneto have to be recurring, and developed beyond just being villains to fight. Loki and Zemo are still around. Killmonger, if he isn't killed. Maybe the actual Mandarin? Who else?
Wait, was this always canon? If so, holy shit I'm beyond surprised right now. Never knew my girl Rogue got her powers from Ms. Marvel.Yeah. She gets her powers from Ms. Marvel (now Captain Marvel).

As a young woman, Rogue permanently absorbed the superhuman powers and the psyche of Carol Danvers, the original Ms. Marvel. This provided her with superhuman strength, stamina, durability, reflexes, speed and a 7th sense. She was able to repel bullets and fly at sub-sonic speeds, much like Ms. Marvel could. In addition, she possessed an amalgamated mutant human/Kree physiology that rendered her resistant to most toxins and poisons, with the added effect of making her virtually invulnerable.
Guess my chance for a Nextwave movie just shot up 2%.
Life is gooooood.
