This channel has sucked me in and I simply have to share.

First some background, the host of the channel is a professional musician and trained singer with degrees in music. On this channel she takes 20-40 minutes to break down the vocals (and often the music!) of some popular and favorite songs; analyzing both well known and popular music, classic rock, heavy metal, and everything in between. She is also a musician for video games has composed songs for Final Fantasy games and worked on soundtracks for smaller games too!

Her analysis is incredible, and her affectations really sucks you in as she listens to many of these songs FOR THE FIRST TIME. As she listens for the first time she paused, analyzes, rewinds, and breaks down the song. Her analysis is so judgment free, she just loves music, and she kills it's in teaching her listeners what exactly is happening in the songs they love.

Over the past three days I've spent hours watching these and sucked my partner into them too. Here are some of my favorites!

I ran across her by accident looking for reactions to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon album. Her take on Great Gig in the Sky was really fascinating, but I found her reaction to Judas Priest's Painkiller both informative and hilarious.

There are at least a few opera singers doing reactions, but also a lot of music experts. The only reaction videos for me that are interesting are by people who actually know their shit and are passionate about the subject. This seems like a good one.

I've been watching her for a long time. Her personality is awesome. I get a kick out of how much she loves her subject matter.

I'm useless when it comes to singing/any form of music related skills, so I find it all fascinating.

I love her.

I actually discovered a new obsession through her:

Her videos with Will Ramos have been fun, especially when she paid to have him scoped, but I find her reaction content to feel really, really fake. Rubs me the wrong way.

She's done some AMAZING interviews with singers though. Highly recommend those.

I found her years ago, no idea what the first video it was, I like that she's not over the top or anything but I find her pretty dry in a NPR kind of way.

Everything except R&B, it looks like. Was hoping I'd find a little something but went like 8 months back and the best I got was a Nat King Cole song.

A lot of these channels are directed by Patreon members or trends, it's why a lot of these music reaction channels seem to cover the same songs around the same time.

Either videos are somewhat faked or she has a supreme understanding of song structure because she always seems to pause at the exact moment of a transition in a song. She also rewinds a song too much. Other than that I enjoy watcing her videos and have been a subscriber for years.

Her video with/about Will Ramos, one of the most insane voices out there, was my first experience with her channel. So cool, they even became friends and they stuck a camera into his throat to see what it looks like when he works his magic.

Them becoming friends is so wholesome.

Elisabeth is great in showing that metal vocalists need actual talent not just screaming into clinchet microphone.

Yeah I came to post this, I was introduced to her a few years ago after I was introduced to To The Hellfire/Will Ramos/Lorna Shore and then watched like 25 reaction videos. (go to 22:55 of that first video to see her hear/respond to some crazy shit)

I was never deah/metal core fan (prefer death/black) but this video introduced me to Lorna Shore and I went to their concert last year. And it was fantastic.

BRITISH ROCK MUSICIAN HEARS THE BEATLES FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!! REACTION!!

I'm sorry, but these channels on Youtube are almost all universally lame. Regardless if they've actually heard some of this stuff or not, it's all still manufactured and manipulative to maximize views. Like do they ever have anything negative to say? Every channel is the same thing, it's like when they put on the headphones you'd think they've never heard music before in their life. It's just these huge reactions and overexpression, it all comes across as really fake. And of course everything is incredible and amazing, and the artist did everything perfect.

Really no need to be bitter, people are able to genuinely enjoy things. This channel is more about the analysis of singing techniques, as the reactor is a trained opera singer and vocal coach. More than just your typical "oh wow, did you see that!" type reaction.

The algorithm usually tends to skew and favor negatively and rage bait. Stuff like this getting traction for being positive is good, actually. Especially when the specific thing being highlighted here is a vocal coach/expert doing it to react and dive into the concept of singing and the different techniques.

You'd be surprised how often people have no exposure to 90% of music out there despite their placement in the music industry.

Been watching her channel for a few years, she is really amazing but I ended up stopping, personal nitpick but i can't stand how she will stop and replay the vid she is watching like five times in a row. I totally get it's so she can process what she is hearing but it just grinds my nerves lol.

I've been watching for a while too. I love how she crushes over Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge) and Brandon Boyd (Incubus).
Her Tea Times have a lot of REALLY solid knowledge about rock vocals and proper technique.

I can't stand REACT channels, but this one is legit because it's more of an analysis channel, not really react.

I see value in the expert analysis of the craft, but I think their critical lens undermines the whole purpose. Like I know going into these videos that they're going to gush about everything they hear, which just makes me question their authenticity.

Why are you here? Go be a pain in the ass in the real world and quit participating in the enshitification of the internet. People can enjoy what they enjoy. Maybe, just maybe, your cynical attitude biases you in such a way that you no longer see positivity or authenticity anywhere. If that's the case, I'm sorry you have gotten that way.

I know, and I generally don't really hold it against these channels, but I tend to stick to the more musical theater themed ones because they're more likely to choose songs within my wheelhouse (pop and pop-like R&B).

When you listen to a ton of music, it's pretty easy to catch where a vocal line or chord progression is resolving.

OMG, me too! I love her channel. Sometimes she'll do a song that I've never really been fond of and would change the radio station if it came on but she ends up really making me appreciate the talent and artistry and I end up liking the song after watching her analysis.
