First Man's Moon Landing scene is one such contender if we considering any non-combat ship related stuff.

Rewatched Interstellar the other day and I was still in awe at this scene. It's an audio and visual masterpiece. An incredibly stressful scene, taken to euphoric heights with Zimmer's swelling score. I can't even imagine how amazing this scene was for those who got to experience it in IMAX.
I think I rented the wrong Interstellar movie.Who doesn't love watching videos of docking
But yeah this rules
The final 10 mins ish of inception is brilliant. Also happens to have an amazing score. The way the theme builds in pieces throughout the movie until it plays in full during the closing scene is classic. This was probably the best singular scene in any of Nolan's movies.
Exactly this, word for word. Saw it in Lincoln center imax in NYC by myself the first time on opening weekend, and I learned that day that "sitting on the edge of your seat" is actually a literal phrase. I ended up looking at some random dude next to me after the scene and we just kind of were like nodding to each other in acknowledgement of what just happened.Anybody who says otherwise saw this on their phone. I saw this in an IMAX theater on release day and I was literally at the edge of my seat holding my breath during this scene. It is without a doubt the most overwhelming moment I've experienced in a theater.
This scene makes for great study material on music and its ability to be the primary emotional driving force of a scene. Saw this in IMAX and honestly forgot to breath.
