Academy Award-winner Russell Crowe stars as Anthony Miller, a troubled actor who begins to unravel while shooting a supernatural horror film. His estranged daughter, Lee (Ryan Simpkins), wonders if he's slipping back into his past addictions or if there's something more sinister at play. The film also stars Sam Worthington, Chloe Bailey, Adam Goldberg and David Hyde Pierce.

Wasn't there an exorcist movie with Russel Crowe just a couple years ago?
I was just about to ask. Can't wait for him to complete his Cornetto exorcist trilogy in the coming year.

*Edit* It seems as if The Pope's Exorcist 2 was greenlit last year and is being developed? So this is a completely different project. What?!

Crowe loving his exorcist movies right now lol. It's an interesting idea and already looks better than that pile of shite Exorcist Believer. They should have made this the first official movie in that new trilogy instead of what they actually made lol.

RLM did a video on this about how lots of horrible films are created with algorithmic names. Lots of shitty horror movies with Shark, Exorcist, or Amityville in the title some where. Sometimes even both, like the classic horror hit "Shark Exorcist"!

That's actually a good meta casting choice given the story they're telling here.

Just put a teaser at the end for The Pope's Exorcist 2 and we're good.

How does Russel crowe, one of the best actors of the past 20 years, never get hired into high profile movies? A beautifup mind to me is one of the best movies of all time.

"Recently?" It's been a popular subject for decades, and there's been about 2-3 exorcism/possession movies a year since ~2004 when they first did an Exorcist prequel. From then on it's been consistently at 2-3 a year because they're not too demanding in effects, they're easy to write and sell to producers, and they'll get instant ticket buys or DVD/digital rentals from people who see a title like "The ____ Exorcism" or "The Exorcism of blah blah" and instantly know what they're buying. It gets horror fans and religious fundies in the door.

wasn't Crowe auctioning a bunch of his memorabilia off to pay off some debt or some shit? Dude must be in that nic cage "say yes" phase of his career right now

Dude needs to quit being an exorcist if he's going to get possessed every time.

Wait, so is Shark Exorcist about people being possessed by Shark spirits that need to be exorcised, or is it a movie about a Shark that is a priest and exorcising demons from people (or other sharks)?

In either case, I'm glad such a thing exists.

Intelligent life on other planets must be absolutely fascinated by us at this point.

Also, Russell Crowe really does seem to like his exorcism movies. I'm here for it. His next one should be set in the future, or a post apocalyptic world. He's gotta hit all the timelines, Doctor Who style.
