Currently holding at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, The Expanse's fourth season is Amazon's first and the beginning of what the series authors consider the grand second act. All ten episodes will drop on Friday, December 13th. Brought back in large part because of an unflinching fandom and a cast and crew who care, the show will find new life in a distant new corner of TV as its vast ensemble of characters discover what awaits them beyond our troubled solar system. The Expanse has truly expanded. Beltalowda, this one's for us.
Please tag spoilers until the beginning of the New Year.

Only a couple more episodes to go on my rewatch, then ready to go. Going to try and not just binge the whole thing right away, heh.

Plowing through Cibola Burn to try to finish before the 13th. I'm a slow reader with too many distractions and priorities but I think I might make it.

I'm very curious to see how they handle this book for Season 4 because IMO its the weakest of the series.

um holden gets to keep a multi trillion dollar warship. Mars should repo the tachi back
Holden's legal argument is that he salvaged it. Mars don't agree but probably also don't want to face a difficult legal battle to remove Holden and his crew from the ship, especially since that crew has links to the political leadership of both Earth and the OPA. Holden and his crew also have a pretty decent record at saving the solar system so that might factor into their considerations as well.

The TV show also only really hints at how well-known and popular Holden is. He's probably the most famous human alive. The TV show doesn't really address how he's paying to run the ship - in the books, Holden is popular enough that he can fund the effort to find Mei via crowdsourcing.

Thanks for making the OT Quinton!
Can't wait to get started on the new episodes, might try to pace myself to watch only one or two per week. But who are we kidding here, I probably won't be able to resist just binging the entire thing :)

I thought so too until I read the next book and thought that it was even weaker...
Started the book after that and currently hoping that it gets better again.

If you're curious...

Basia and Havelock's characters aren't in
It seems like Bobbie is on mars adapting her novella Gods of Risk alongside her nephew IIRC? Meanwhile, Avasarala and the OPA will have to deal with the rise of Marco Inaros

I also just wanted to say I love this season's artwork? It feels like it encompasses the series overall and it's hard to see them changing that come Season 5.

Pretty sure there's dialog with the documentary crew in Season 3, stating their company is paying for the roci's legal proceedings.
Edit: actually ran through that scene again, (episode 7), they hand wave away the cost to run the ship as "not cheap" and then they mention the legal fees.
