That was just to cause more conflict between them as a means of torture. I think the idea was always for Bambadjan to come in the last minute pointing out a loophole so things would go back to how they were (he was about to do that when Eleanor figured everything out). Michael was flying by the seat of his pants already because he didn't expect that Eleanor would confess so quickly. So I binged the shit out of the first season on sunday, and I watched episodes 3-7 of season two on monday (Hulu doesnt have the first two episodes sadly).
This show is fantastic. But I do have a question and maybe it was answered when I wasn't paying attention but at the end of the first season
Why did Tahani and Eleanor going to the Bad Place ruin Michael's plan? And why was Shawn so intent on it being Jason and Eleanor?
Fix now: https://www.nbc.com/the-good-place/episodesI watched episodes 3-7 of season two on monday (Hulu doesnt have the first two episodes sadly).
You don't need to wait until the Spring, it comes back January 4th.Sad that I binge watched the entire thing last week and have to wait until Spring! I love this show. This and Kevin Probably Saves the World are amazing!

RIGHT?!?!?
Side note.
I think the big surprise at the end of season 1 was ruined for me.
I started watching it on Netflix and noticed how Micheal's smile was off. That made me start second guessing everything on the show because he looked off there haha
I love that twist
I love that twist
There was stuff that I thought didn't make sense but I just handwaved as it being a sitcom
but man the twist explained everything because they were essentially in a sitcom in hell
Hell yes. Chidi has already had some series high moments in season 2 in my opinion.Yup, I loved it.
Also Chidi is everyone's favorite character right?

After the season finale last season I think Michael has pulled ahead for me. Evil Michael has been so great for the entire season so far.Yup, I loved it.

The actress who plays Fake Eleanor has probably the best funniness/screen time ratio, but everyone on the show kills it imo.

Yup :) So glad they aren't on a ridiculously long winter breakThe Good Place and Superstore back in the same week, 2018 already delivering!

Superstore fills part of the Scrubs and Community shaped holes in my heart. I really enjoy it and I think it's worth checking out. I do think it takes a bit to really find its voice in season one though.
I love Derek but he's too volatile and nonsensical to work as a real character unless they change him a lot—much like Pimento on B99. He can only work the way he does now because he comes in short bursts or in highlight episodes. A relevant comment from Schur's AMA today:Wasn't expecting the "good place" to close up shop and that the humans, and apparently Michael, would get the place all to themselves. Obviously won't last, but it'll be a nice change of pace to see what a guy like Jason could do without any real limitations.
Also, Derek needs to be a regular character on this show. I enjoyed the actor on B99, but his performance here is even better. Maybe he can become besties with Jason and tear some shit up.
...in every show I've ever worked on, there is always one character that the writers come up with, and I have the thought, "This could be really funny, but it's so insane...who the hell is going to be able to play this role?!" That is the Jason Mantzoukas role.
I understand. Hard to keep a guy who says his own name every other word. But JM's intensity and facial expressions are the best and for me, personally, it'd take a lot to have me tire out on him.
