Thats the only thing I don't get. This would do fine even without the "live action" scam.
I had to tell someone that they didn't film this on location.... that its all cgi. The dirt/ground/animals everything. They thought originally (without seeing the trailer) They would do the mouth morph thing with animals... I feel like it just brings up so many questions.
Fuck this teaser though..
made me tear up at the end. Punkasses.

I wonder where it started, but yeah folks are running with the live action marketing.
Probably more from some media outlets and the general audience because it's probably the best way to describe it. Nowhere in the press release does it call this film live action and even some media outlets have pointed that out for clarification.
The only time where "live action" pops up is in the video description of the trailer on youtube where it says "From Disney Live Action...." which is probably referring to the group of people working on the film and not the film itself.
It's not up to them. As long as more than 50% of a film is animated, it's considered an animated film in the eyes of the Academy.
Because it's ruining their childhood memories according to them.
I was never expecting it to be as good as the original, so I don't care.
Looks too much like a remake? Don't like the animation? Doesn't think the film has to be remade?
Only really that last one has merit as the animation could be changed between now and release and we haven't seen much of the film yet.
I've been underwhelmed on the Disney Remakes but I did enjoy Jungle Book, since Jon Favreau is on this one, got my hopes up.

I see people saying they aren't feeling it but flop? Feels like you're making that up.
You should check out the thread for when the trailer dropped. People seem genuinely pissed off that this is a thing.
But what does it count as animated ?
Will Avatar count as animation? Would a movie like Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow count?
There was definitely a couple of people in the trailer thread that said it would flop.
