Fast repeating gifs are so annoying.
I wonder if the Nier YoHRa edition coming out today on Steam will finally see fixes for the PC version.

Because if it's just a new Steam store page...yeah, it's not gonna escape the "Mostly Negative" status this time around.
They'll just release a DLC that has the Wallpapers or whatever and call it a day.

Totally forgot about this. Let's hope for the best!

(Although I am kinda worried about how it will effect ReShade and the SpecialK fixes. Unfortunately Automata is so very touchy about these things.)

Edit: I don't think it will get it's own store page.
https://steamdb.info/app/524220/history/?changeid=5809907

They're adding GotY edition DLC to the current package.

Yeah, as I assumed.

I'm tempted to buy RE:2 on cdkeys.com, but I don't know anything about the site. Is it a legit site or a shady one like G2A ?

As someone else in here said a little while back, it's the most legit of the shady sites.
Or is it indeed the most shady of all legit sites ?

Not sure if the right place to ask but I upgraded to the RTX 2060 recently and noticed that with Anthem and Metro that sometimes they will just close out shortly after loading. After a few attempts it will stop. Other less graphically intensive games don't seem to have this issue. The issue itself with Anthem and Metro don't happen everytime.

Is it possible there is something wrong with the card or is it possible just an issue with the games themselves? Could a loose PCI cord lead to this happening?

It's still baffling the way Nier was handled on PC. Square has put a ton of work in on games that released after it. What made Nier so undeserving? Couldn't even get some bug fixes.

It's my favorite SE game on PC. I don't get it.

You might try reseating the graphics card and make sure all the necessary power cables are plugged in.

Nier sold gangbusters and Square still can't bother to patch it. They don't even put it on sale. It's as if it's abandonware to them.

TOPKEK. Can't wait for the Yorha edition /s

NieR had multiple 50% discounts last year, and even before then I seem to recall a 35% and 40% sale in 2017.

I won't argue they aren't treating PC customers like they should be, but c'mon now.

I think I shall do that.

Another thing is that I noticed a "flicker" on my second monitor. It's not the whole screen, it goes across the middle.

In terms of performance I haven't noticed problems.

GOG.com to discontinue its 'Fair Price Package' Program on March 31st
https://www.gog.com/news/conclusion_of_the_bfair_price_packageb_program

On March 31st we are going to discontinue the Fair Price Package program. Let us explain the reasoning behind this decision.
We came up with Fair Price Package (FPP) as a way to make up the price difference between various countries. Some games on GOG.COM have regional pricing, meaning the price of the same game in one place can be higher compared to its price in North America. In countries where the game is more expensive, we give users the equivalent of the price difference in GOG Wallet funds. In actual numbers, on average, we give users back 12% of the game price from our own pocket. In some cases, this number can reach as high as 37%.

Removing FPP is not a decision we make lightly, but by making this change, we will be able to offer better conditions to game creators, which — in turn — will allow us to offer you more curated back-cat games and new releases. All DRM-free.

Thread here: https://www.resetera.com/threads/go...r-price-package-program-on-march-31st.102020/

Another suggestion is to check your connecting cables. Make sure the connectors are good and the bandwidth they are rated for isn't being exceeded. (Higher resolution and FPS = more bandwidth the cable has to be able to carry.)

I had some screen problems myself earlier in the year and it turned out my HDMI cable had kinda just gone bad. Replaced it and no issues since.

I might be better off posting this in a PC troubleshooting thread but it seems somewhat relevant here.

This is a vague issue, but I've noticed that my almost brand new pretty high end PC drops a lot of framerate in games, even little indie games, if I have any kind of video running on my other monitor: Twitch, YouTube, or an episode of something on VLC even. More so than my older PC seemed to be affected. I've tried messing around with some settings in the browser / VLC and even task manager priorities (which still seems to do nothing). Has anyone run into or solved a similar issue?

Square is clearly following a Keynesian game support policy. The better a game is doing, the less technical support it gets. On the other hand, if a game is doing poorly, then they feel the need to invest in it to prop up it sales.
It's the 101 of counter-cyclical tech support.

Used it for maybe 10-11 games overall. Most recently on the Civ 6 expansion which they didn't deliver immediately and were able to give me a refund instantly when I told them I just bought it on steam.

Very positive experiences from me over the years and would happily recommend em.

Somewhere in the middle.

They aren't a licensed key seller, but they aren't actively scummy like G2A. Mostly they just resell keys from boxed copies in poorer regions.
They're kind of a gray area, but I have bought 10+ games there and never had an issue with anything.

Thanks for the positive responses, € 30 for RE:2 is really a great deal. Bought it and activated it without any problems. I hope I won't face any problems in the future. Thanks for the feedback !

this would happen to me ALL THE FUCKING TIME on max payne 1 and it was so god damn brutal
Okay so this reminded me how surprisingly challenging og Max Payne was on pc, almost to the point of "abuse quick save and quick load" type of old game. Back on PS2 the game was way more forgiving despite the horrible frame rate and aiming. Figured they must've made adjustments mouse vs. controller.

...But just now I googled that Max Payne has adaptive difficulty by default...so by relying on quicksaving and loading I was solely responsible for the deadly accurate AI myself. More ya know.

Apparently the latest patch to Mutant Year Zero removes Denuvo, so I guess I'm picking that up tonight. I'm starting to think my habit of buying strategy games despite having a massive backlog of strategy games is a problem.

Man I'm having one of those "I want to play something new but I don't know what" moments. I decided to move on from Monster Hunter World after I completed the kill 2 Bazelgeuses mission. After almost 60 hours I got my money's worth and it was time for something new. So I tried Immortal Redneck, which I guess is fine, but not all that exciting and I quickly moved on to Sundered. It seemed like a great metroidvania at first, but after 10 or so hours I'm just too tired of the constant hordes of respawning enemies. So once again I'm looking for something new to fill that void.

I was eyeing XCOM 2 before. I thought the first one was pretty great, even though I never finished it. Got it from Humble Monthly, but I don't know if I should play with or without the War of the Chosen expansion the first time around. So I decided to look for it and I notice there's even more DLC. So now my excitement to play XCOM2 is already waning.

Bah I hate feeling like this. I guess I don't know what I'm in the mood for really.

Didn't take long for the usual wankers to come in and try to steer the GOG thread into 'friggin' Steam fans' territory.

Everyone is always in the mood for Trials. And this new one just released.

Haha, thanks for the recommendation, but that's not for me. I tried a Trials game before and couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll try again someday, but I know it's not something I'm in the mood for today.

I'm thinking of going for Yakuza 0 now, but I'm not sure I want to commit to another 40-50+ hours RPG so soon again...

Not sure this is the place to ask but I bought the Sony Gold headset a few years back for PC use and it worked but when I moved I lost the dongle. Google is full of this same question but the answers vary. Can you use any random dongle to pair it with my pc such as this?

If that THQ thing is real they need to scratch their PR department. Holy fuck, what a mess.

EDIT: Seems to be real.
