Good, I wanna take these games on the go. It's a good way for Nintendo to pad out their output in Switch considering I'd double dip for most of the Wii Us library.
Bring on XCX and Tokyo Mirage Sessions.

Same for me.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was definitely a litmus test to determine if there was demand for Wii U games. Ultimately, people just want games, period. It doesn't matter if it's a port or a remaster. If you've never played it, it's a new game for you. Enhanced visuals, performance, new content and improvements to QoL sweeten the deal.
Might be wrong here... I thought it crossed that barrier with the December sales...Worldwide? I saw it passed LTD in Japan but I don't believe it's world wide just yet.
I agree with everything you said, I was responding to someone who was happy Nintendo was making ports because they felt it would allow Nintendo to afford making new games. If Nintendo can't afford to make games as it is I would be bewildered. Of course if you want to buy the port because it's worth it you absolutely should - i'll probably get Souls.
I understand there will also be new games sown the road, but I'm speaking in the context of the Direct and the immediate future. There aren't many exciting new games between now and E3... in fact I can't think of a single one I personally want to buy.
Doesn't affect me as I won't buy the ports/remasters again anyway. But of course it's good for those that haven't played the games yet and those who want to see some improvements over the Wii U versions. It's a win-win situation, especially since they're fast to develop for the otherwise software droughts.
