So as i made thread last year for 2019 here is another one for 2020. Compared to 2019 there were 16 games more (114 free games in 2019). And again there were more games given away but majority of those not listed were "shovelware".

You could've done very well with a lot of games to play having spent zero money just grabbing free stuff from Epic.

Getting Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection day one was a real highlight.

There were bunch of games from Prime as well and some from GoG. Tim Epic though sure paid a lot of Fortnite vBucks for the games and exclusives in 2020.

Technically Prime games are not free, you still pay for Prime. And GOG, UPlay, Humble and Steam games are listed there.

What's interesting is that with all the freebies from Epic, it's gotten me to spend more time perusing their store. Their endless $10 off coupons coupled with good sales has also gotten me to purchase more games on there in 2020 than I did on Steam. That right there is probably the whole point, but hey, it's working on me. :)

Epic gamestore has been.... Epic. Lol

If you have Amazon Prime you also get games you keep through Prime Gaming.

The quality is also crazy from Epic. There's a LOT of actually really very good games on there. Hitman, Darkest Dungeon, Into the Breach, GTA V, etc. They're not just filler crap.

Not to mention you could have donated $5 for the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality on itch.io and receive 1,741 items (Mostly games, but things like game creation assets and the like as well) which included Night in the Woods, Celeste, Nuclear Throne, A Short Hike, Minit and a ton of other notable games.

Gaming on PC is nuts, yo.

Part of gaming on PC now is being showered with free games
It's true. It's actually cutting down my spending on games, because you can kinda gauge how soon and cheap these indies and AA titles will be perfect freebie fodder. Lord knows I have enough games to play now without paying for anything new.

By the way, Crying Suns (Epic's next free game) looks fucking great!

Why do people insist on saying things you literally pay for are "free"? It's a subscription. Nothing in it is free. Is this astroturfing? I don't get it.
???

I am saying if you have Prime, you get to keep the games, if you quit Prime, you still have them? Do you actually think Amazon needs to do Astroturfing in US?? Take a chill pill.

Now throw in GamePass as well on the cheap, and cheap Humble Bundle, other bundles from places like Fanatical, fairly large sales from different stores, and a judicial PC user doesn't have to spend a lot of cash if they are not in a big hurry to play games on release.

Thanks Tim!

It's also nice we can have a thread like this without the gatekeeping and toxicity that EGS topics used to attract when the exclusives started.

I don't even have a gaming pc and I built a decent library on the EGS. 😂

Yeah most of my time goes to the free games on EGS. It´s magnificent. Heck I even bought Death Stranding and Cyberpunk on EGS just because of that. So the strategy seems to work.
