Lethal Company does indeed look awesome, with amazing VOIP implementation and sound design.
Might have to see if I can get some (primarily console user) friends to play it with me...

One of the clips of a game of all time, most definitely.

It is one for the record books even.

I liked the part where someone screamed.

Can this be played with randoms and does it have arachnophobia mode? :d

Not built in, but a curiously google looked says there is a mod you can download. Though it seems like it requires the host to have the mod because it just outright removes them from the game currently rather than replacing it with something else.

Also, again, I haven't played, but from google it seems like you can just join lobbies.

CountAntonio has been trying to tell you guys for weeks about this game:

www.resetera.com

Lethal Company is the top seller on steam and has hit over 100k concurrent players.

I made a thread about this game a little over two weeks ago and the game has just went viral and become the number one seller on steam and hit a huge milestone of over 100k concurrent players this weekend. Just love seeing an indie title take off like this. A trailer below for those who don't...

Anyone play Lethal Company? co-op horror about scavenging at abandoned moons to sell scrap to the Company.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1966720/Lethal_Company/ https://youtu.be/m5RB0Ej1mFg It's a ten dollar game that released 5 days ago and has overwhelmingly positive reviews as well as some great videos on youtube. Seems like it's on the verge of blowing up through word of mouth. Anyone try...

I'm just now hearing about this game myself as it was trending on twitter...:

Each monster has their own thing they're attracted to and behaviors they have. Like the one you posted it follows you and will instant kill you if it catches up to you, but if you shine a light at it, it'll run away.
That's cool, I thought it was a weakness of phasmophobia that the ghosts behaviors just weren't that interesting.

So apparently this game is made by one person???

Between this and Lunacid, solo developers be rocking this year.

Damn that's a good one. I remember one i saw years ago where these guys are about to get into a gyrocopter thing and then another player beats them to it, and they're like "let's see how the pros do it" and the player takes off and immediately crashes and they burst out laughing. I've been unable to find it since, but that one made me cry laughing.

Lethal Company is fantastic
any game with proximity chat let alone one that gets affected by the environment or mode of communication (radio for example) it always is an absolute banger

This one lives rent free in my brain.

The timing of the pause is just too perfect - it feels scripted.

At the time it was soooo "relevant" too. For those who aren't aware - when H1Z1 first launched (Early access) there was a bug where Ammo as a loot drop wouldn't spawn in the world, or would only spawn at an incredibly reduced rate. The result was that a lot of people had guns, but no bullets with which to shoot them.

This actually led to an amazing emergent gameplay scenario where players, when encountering each other, would often posture, threaten or otherwise talk to each other - trying to gauge whether or not they felt the other actually had the means to use their weapon. And even in the case that they did, was it worth them using up such a scarce resource - particularly when they might need it soon if a zombie hoard happened to cross their path.

In other words, it felt much more like how one might act in an apocalyptic scenario. It was incredibly immersive!

But then, the devs fixed the bug. Ammo became plentiful and that whole culture died instantly overnight. The game became "Just shoot other players as soon as you see them because why wouldn't you?" and, in my opinion, significantly worse.
