The default keyboard for Samsung devices is the Samsung Keyboard. You can change that keyboard's swipe behavior in settings.
Which keyboard are you using? It works on the Google keyboard on my Note8.
It's great.
Also, for those of you with compatible phones: The 3D Touch version (press anywhere on the keyboard and press down harder to select) is much better because you can highlight text all with one hand, whereas two are required with the space bar method (which feels more natural on iPad, where it also works).

No. It's different. It's not nearly as good. It only scrolls left and right. Shit's wack.
It works really great, actually. But yes, only horizontal is a bummer
I don't know how long the iPhone has had this feature, but I've done it on Android for years. It's the best.
Assholes should have Told everyone when this feature was implemented. The other way is horrible and never works. Usually I would try and try until I gave up and deleted two to three words and wrote them over again.
